SMUCB Qsis Registration Guide

This guide is designed to help you use the QSIS system in order to complete your registration. Some screens may vary as the system is occasionally updated. Before using the registration system, make sure you have the following details:

  • Post codes for home and term time address
  • Doctor’s name, address and post code

(you can use to find postcodes you don't know).

Firstly, navigate to the page – the Qsis log-on page.

Once there, enter your username and password, as shown below, and click the ‘Sign In’ button.

You will then be directed to a page where you should click on the link to access the Registration Wizard:

On first screen click the “Next”button to proceed:

Once you arrive at the ‘Registration Homepage’ (below), you should click on the ‘Demographic Information’ link or ‘Step 1’ as shown below.


In the ‘Demographic Information’ section, there are only two things you can change. Your marital status, and your ethnicity, as shown below. Once you choose your options, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the ‘Next’ button to proceed.

You should then begin to edit your details as appropriate. Begin by clicking the ‘Edit’ button, as shown. For additional addresses, please click ‘Add A New Address’. Please read the instructions carefully as you need 2 addresses to progress.

Use the ‘Lookup’ button to search by postcode and house number. If you reside in the Rep. of Ireland, click on Change Country and select IRE from the list. Then click the Manual Entry button to type in your address.

Enter postcode and house number here e.g. BT12 6FE, 19. Then click the search button and follow the instructions provided until you have selected the correct address.

Once you have filled in your addresses appropriately, click on the ‘OK’ button.

You will then be taken to the ‘Address Verification’ page, where you can double check the information you have input. You will also have to select the address type/s associated with it (on the right).

Then click on ‘Save’. Then Click ‘OK’ at this point if you are satisfied. On all pages, you can either click ‘Next’ or ‘Return to Registration’ pages.

PLEASE USE Mail Address Type for your term time address. Please note that the College will normally correspond with your home address.

After clicking the ‘Next’ or ‘Return to Registration’ buttons, you will then be guided through the rest of the registration process. At all steps you will be able to review or amend your personal, course-related or financial information.

All steps must be satisfied to complete registration. You may leave sections and come back to them later. As each step is satisfied, it will be marked ‘Completed’. To ensure any changes you make are recorded, click on the ‘Save’ button (where available). Where there is no ‘Save’ button changes will be saved automatically.

Work through the rest of the forms…clicking on ‘Next’ or ‘Return to Registration’ buttons.

As explained below, when inputting your email address, your Queen’s email address will be displayed.

In this section you will add ‘Emergency Contacts’. You must have at least TWO emergency contacts. One of those must be of the relationship Doctor.

You should then begin inputting the emergency contact details by clicking on the ‘Edit Address’ link. Then enter their phone number and click on the ‘Save’ button.

You can then input more Emergency Contacts by clicking on the ‘Next’ button, as shown below.

Other information/Equal opportunities page. In this section you will be asked to input information to help with University's statutory reporting obligations. You can verify this information by clicking on the ‘Look Up’ symbol ( )beside each box.

The qualifications are listed highest to lowest. Scroll down to find your highest qualification on entry. P50 is to be used for those with A levels as their highest qualification and P80 for Irish Leaving Certificate. If you have other qualifications, you would need to select this instead.

When you have completed all the appropriate fields, then click on the ‘Next’ button.

You will then be asked whether or not you consent to your name being passed on to a University Chaplain. If you click ‘Yes’ then you will be required to select the denomination/faith from the drop-down menu, then click on the Next’ button as shown below.

You must read and confirm that you understand all your obligations as a student and the University’s Equal Opportunities and Data Protection obligations. Confirm by ticking the TWO boxes shown and then by clicking on the ‘Next’ button. The ‘Next’ button will remain greyed out until you have clicked both boxes.

You will then be asked to confirm all your academic details by ticking the appropriate boxes, and then clicking on the ‘Next’ button.

You may be presented with an Advisor of Studies, place a tick in the box if required and click ‘Next’ to proceed.

The following Finance screen is for students studying at QUB – click next to continue.

On the Financial Permission page you will need to indicate with whom the University is allowed to discuss your fees with. Please tick the appropriate box/boxes and click ‘Next’.

Click on the confirmation button to proceed.

You should then get a message to confirm that you have completed online registration. Click OK to return to your Student Centre home page.

You can now sign out.
