Job Title:SME Team Project Officer

Reporting to:Head of (SME) Business Delivery Team

Fixed Contract:6 months (scope to extend)

Salary:£22,000per annum

  1. Overall duties and responsibilities

a)Assisting the SME (small-to-medium size business) teams/projects (the SmartWorks ERDF Project, Green IT ERDF Project and the SME team in the Exeter office) with administration and marketing support

b)Organising regular reporting (project progress and financial spend) to the funder for the Smartworks and the Green IT project

c)Assisting with events delivery and marketing across projects

  1. Specific duties
  1. Reporting project output and financial information for quarterly claims to funders for the Smartworks ERDF project and the Green IT ERDF project. This will involve liaising with delivery teams to gather output/outcome information and with the project teams/finance team to ensure financial information for each claim is up to date.
  2. Attending meetings with funders (along with relevant Project Managers) to ensure that claims processing is running smoothly.
  3. Assisting with marketing of projects. This will involve:
  4. Recruiting businesses onto projects. This will involve for example, maintaining existing relationships and developing new ones with various partner organisations and networks in London; identifying events we could attend or present at that will help us reach new SME audiences; developing other ways in which we can work with other networks to publicise our own programmes/events to their members/audiences
  5. Developing marketing materials for projects. This will involve; liaising between project teams and the marketing team to develop marketing materials as required; ensuring production of marketing materials is carried out via a coordinated approach to maximise efficient use of the marketing team and ensure coherent branding/best quality of materials across projects.
  6. Ensure all relevant information for each project is regularly updated on the website (via the marketing team)
  1. Assisting with events. This will involve:
  2. Assisting with the marketing of our own events (see above)
  3. Attending events with project team members to run stands and talk to businesses
  4. Registering interested businesses onto events and providing them with the necessary information ahead of these and follow up information as required.
  5. Updating internal records for events (e.g. delegate lists and feedback information from events)
  6. Checking booking arrangements for events

Competencies / Description / Importance
Administrative / Ability to understand and support a range of projects effectively, to prioritise tasks and time management to deadlines. To be able to gather information and report back on projects in a clear and accurate manner. / Essential
IT skills / High proficiency in Excel, Word and Powerpoint programmes / Essential
Communication / Excellent communication skills required. To communicate internally within the organisation/between teams and to work with external parties to aid marketing and events. Ability to produce clear and well-written reports. / Essential

Environmental knowledge / An interest and understanding of environmental issues and how they relate to businesses. / Essential
Education / Higher education or degree / Desirable
Charity sector experience / Experience of working in the not-for-profit sector in a paid or unpaid capacity. / Desirable

Business Sector / Experience of working with the business sector, ideally with small-medium sized businesses. / Desirable
Networking / Experience of networking and building relationships with potential events partners / Desirable
