MEETING SUMMARY

February 7, 2013

Scott Brandmeier, Chair, convened the regular monthly conference call at 10:08 a.m.

The meeting summary from the January 3, 2013conference call was approved as printed.

Bo Mills, Board Liaison,reported that the APWA Board’s Winter Board Meeting was held in

Kansas City, MO January 25, 2013. The meeting was very successful, particularly with their work on the Governance Model. Bo reported that as of today, two award submissions have been received for the SCRC Project of the Year Award. APWA has reached a record high registration for the Membership Summit and Chapter Leadership Training being held February 28 thru March 2, 2013.

A review of the Editorial Calendar for the next monthswas given as follows:

  • Jason Peek presently confirmed for the March 15th deadline

Scott Brandmeier will continue to monitor the EPA Stormwater Regulations to prepare a session of the regulations when and if they are finally adopted. Scott also mentioned the possibility of teaming up with the Water Resource Committee for a joint article for the APWA Reporter.

Stan Brown reported the Sub-Committee for development of the Tool Kit for Advocacy for Small Cities/Rural Communities is currently drafting several Best Management Practices that heavily focus on state and local level issues.

Scott reminded the committee that he has completed all terms that he can serve while also reminding Jason, Stan, and Geoff that they will need to self-nominate themselves for an additional two-year term for the committee.

Jill Boland, APWA Staff advised that The Call for Nominations will open on on February 15, 2013 and will close April 1, 2013 at midnight.

The group had no new items to add for discussion during the upcoming Face-to-Face meeting.

The conference call was adjourned at 10:21 a.m.
