The manufacturing technology program at Orange Coast College is a comprehensive educational organization dedicated to skill-based training of individuals looking for successful careers in the manufacturing trades.
Our mission is to offer education and training in a wide range of traditional and new technology manufacturing trades, with an emphasis on sustainable use and green technology as an ever expanding part of what we strive for. / What will students be able to think, know, do, or feel because of a given educational experience in a course or a program?

SLO #1 Upon successful completion of the Certificate, the student will be able to write part machine programs for controlling CNC lathes and milling machines. / Student Success Rates were calculated over the 3 year period between 2008 and 2010, coinciding with Program Review. Student Success is defined as the percentage of students receiving a passing grade of A, B, or C in required courses, with a program target goal of 75% success. / Data was not available for 2011-12 at the time of this report.
Using collected data, Student Success Rate for this program is 79.45%. / Using the present criteria of success, the Manufacturing Technology Department is meeting its goals for this PSLO.
The Department is considering using a different assessment tool for the future as this data is not always available at the time of PSLO Assessment.
