Slipper Project - Scheme of Work

The breakdown of this project is similar to the year 7 project but this time the students will be making a 3D product that will challenge their design and making skills.
After a class discussion regarding the project, students will practice sewing along a curved edged (fabric samples cut into circles) in order to understand some of the difficulties with sewing curved edges. / 1.1a, c, d, 1.2a, 1.3a, b, 1.4a, 1.4c, 2c, 2f, 2g, 3a, 3e, 3j, 3l, 4b, 4c, 4d, 4f / Exercise books

- To pin the template pieces to the chosen fabric

Students shall also be given a step-by-step guide showing them how to create a slipper. This is to promote independent learning in order to find the information themselves before having to ask a teacher for help.
Once the students have cut-out the paper templates they shall need to pin them onto the chosen fabric and cut them out.
