Slide 4 - Agenda

Slide notes

For the Deal Calendar enhancement covered in this training, we’ll give an overview, followed by more detail to explain how you can use Deal Calendar, and the business value it adds.

Then we’ll walk you through a demonstration.

Slide 5 - Enhancements Overview

Slide notes

The new deal calendar feature is accessed from the Activity calendar page.

Deal calendar provides you with the ability to create calendars for specific Opportunities, Accounts, and adhoc Teams. These calendar views are managed from the side panel.

You can create calendars for any Opportunities or Accounts to which you have access.

The ability to create a Team Calendar was introduced in Release 9. In Release 11, team calendars are created and managed from the Deal Calendar side panel.

Slide 6 - Deal Calendar

Slide notes

From the side panel, groups of users can be pre-defined and saved as a calendar view .

An opportunity calendar displays a day, week, month or list view of all appoinments associated to the opportunity. When the opportunity calendar is selected from the side panel, the owners of existing appointments are displayed. From the side panel, you can toggle an owner resource to hide his or her appointments from the view.

Similar to opportunity calendars, account calendars provide you with an appointment-centric view of an account. The calendar views paint a picture of both past and future customer interactions, and the resources involved in the deals.

Team Calendar resources do not have to be part of the same organizational team.

You can use the resource hierarchy in order to select resources or specific groups within organizations to be added to a calendar.

Notes

Slide 7 - Deal Calendar

Slide notes

A comprehensive deal calendar view informs a sales team of a deal’s appointment history, scheduled activities, and an understanding of the deal’s overall status.

The complete picture provided by team calendar informs a sales manager how their team spends their day or week.

Multiple team calendars can be created to further segment resources based on location or skill set.

Both the deal and team calendar views aid in scheduling, managing, and workload balancing, - all impacting productivity.

Slide 63 - Summary of Enhancement Capabilities

Slide notes

Here is the summary of the features I have talked about today …

The new deal calendar side panel allows you to create multiple calendars. Calendars can be created for an opportunity or an account.

Team calendars offer a day or week view of each team member’s appointments – and as always, a team can be adhoc, meaning, the members need not be part of the same organization.

From the deal calendar side panel, you can open, edit or delete a calendar. Moving from one calendar view to another is a one-click action. A user can add an appointment for the deal or the team by clicking into a specific time on the calendar.

Notes

Slide 64 - Feature Impact Guidelines

Slide notes

There is no setup needed to enable the deal calendar feature. The deal calendar side panel is available out of the box. All sales users should have access to it.
