Skills Fund - Training Requests

The qualifications or skill sets for must be on scope at the time of lodging an application and proof of scope must accompany the application. Applications for qualifications or skill sets not on scope will be not be eligible for assessment and will be disregarded.

Co-contributions for full qualifications and skill sets will be required based on the size of any organisation named in the application process, as follows:

> 1000 FTEs = 50% contribution (includes all government agencies)

200-999 FTEs = 30% contribution

20-199 FTEs = 20% contribution

1-19 staff FTEs = 10% contribution

Exceptions:

  • For Not-for-profit organisations who have an FTE >1000, the contribution rate is 30%.
  • Industry Association/Regional Group applications - where places applied for are “General Industry” a 20% contribution will apply. Where possible list the individual employers who are applying via Industry Association or Regional Groups. By naming them in the application (qualification or skill set table), they may attract a lower co-contribution rate.
  • As the Small Business/Business Groups are businesses with less than 20 employees including sole traders, contractors and non-employing businesses they will attract a 10% contribution.
  • Jobseeker and Mind the Gap streams do not attract a contribution rate.
  • Licensing skill sets will attract a 50% contribution rate.

Total cost is calculated by multiplying the number of places times by full cost per learner less Co-contribution percentage. For example: 5 (number of places) * $1000 (fullcost per person) * .9 (10% co-contribution) = $4500 (Total cost per person).
