Template for Submission of Communications

to the Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society (2015)

** Instruction for Using Template**

Please use Communications template for submission to the Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society. This template is useful for gauging the length of their Communications, eliminating the cost of shortening them to the two-page limit at the galley stage. A general idea of the length will be given by inserting your artwork (displayed equations, figures, schemes, charts, and tables) into the template sized appropriately for submission. Do NOT change the template in any way (delete space, modify font size/line height, etc.) to make your Communication fit within the two-page limit. The last page of this template contains a space where you are to paste the Graphic Abstract.

Please read the instructions below mentioned on how to use the template.

1. There are two ways to work with your manuscript within this template.

1)Please type your manuscript directly into the template.

2)If you have already prepared your document in a MS Word file, please copy and paste your manuscript into the template.

2. Please create a new line and insert the graphic where desired to insert figures, schemes, tables or charts within the text. If your artwork is larger than the width of the column, you must resize the artwork in your graphics program and then repaste it into the template (maximum width for single-column artwork, 3.3 in. (8.5 cm); maximum width for double-column artwork, 7 in. (17.7 cm)). The resolution of your graphics should have a minimum of 300dpi.

3. Delete all sections from the template that are not needed, including these instructions.

4. Save it as a MS Word Document.

5. Proof a printout of the manuscript to ensure that all parts of the manuscript are present and clearly legible.

6. Please read the "Template" given below for creating your manuscripts.

Title (Word Style is Times New Roman: Size 14 pt) Please Use an Appropriate Title for your Manuscript.
Author Name (Word Style is Times New Roman: Font Size 10 pt) Use first names, Initials, and surnames(e.g., Thomas R. Smith) or first name and surname(e.g., Kil Dong Hong). If there are above two authors for manuscripts, corresponding author must be asterisked(*)): e.g., Shim Sung Lee, Kil Dong Hong,† and Min Chul Park*
Author address (Font Size 10 pt) zip code and E-mail address should be included.
The affiliation should be the institution where the work was conducted.
If the present address of an author differs from that at which the work was done, give the current address in a footnote.
Received Date; Accepted Date(to be inserted by the publisherafter your manuscript is accepted)
Keywords(Font Size 10 pt): Provide 2–5 significant keywords to aid the reader in literature retrieval. (e.g., Red, Orange, White)

(Font Size: 10pt) TEXT: Communications report preliminary results whose immediate availability to the scientific community is deemed important and whose topic is timely enough to justify double publication.

The reference number should be on the right-top of relevant contents. (e.g., Nowadays, much attention has been focused on organic reactions catalyzed by ionic liquids.19)

Figures and Schemes: Each figure must have a captionthat includes the figure number and a brief description. The caption should follow the format "Figure 1.", "Scheme 1." All figures must be mentioned in the text consecutively and numbered with Arabic numerals. To insert the figure into the template, be sure it is already sized appropriately and paste before the figure caption. For formatting double-column figures, see the instructions at the end of the template. Do NOT modify the amount of space before and after the caption as this allows for the rules, space above and below the rules, and space above and below the figure to be inserted upon editing. (maximum width for single-column artwork, 3.3 in. (8.5 cm); maximum width for double-column artwork, 7 in. (17.7 cm); minimum resolution for graphics, 600 dpi). Please provide original files for all figures and schemes.

Chemical Structures: Please provide ChemDraw files for all chemical structures. Authors should use the following settings:

ChemDraw (Angewandte Style Sheet)(( )).

Tables: Each table must have a brief (one phrase or sentence) title that describes its contents. The title should follow the format "Table 1.". The title should be understandable without reference to the text. Put details in footnotes, not in the title (use font size 8.5 pt). Do NOT modify the amount of space before and after the title as this allows for the space above and below the table to be inserted upon editing. If table width is above a single-column width (8.5 cm), please place the insertion point where you want to insert tables in the contents and attach tables in the back of your manuscript. For Table letters please use a font sizeof 9 pt.

X-ray crystallographic data: For papers dealing with X-ray crystallography, crystallographic data (in CIF format) should be deposited with one of the two databases below before publication.

For organic and metal-organic compounds:
Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC)
12 Union Road, Cambridge CB2 1EZ, UK
Tel: (+44) 1223-336-408 Fax: (+44) 1223-336-033

For purely inorganic compounds:

Each structure deposited will be given a deposition number (CCDC-xxxxxx, or CSD-xxxxxx), and the number should be supplied at the Experimental section with the following standard text: Crystallographic data for the structures reported here have been deposited with CCDC (or FIZ) (Deposition No. CCDC-xxxxxx (1) or CSD-xxxxxx (1)). These data can be obtained free of charge via or from CCDC, 12 Union Road, Cambridge CB2 1EZ, UK, E-mail: (or FIZ, 76344, Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Germany, E-mail: ).
