Census Verification Sheets came home in Friday Folders last week.
These need to be returned to the school by October 13th.
Hog Roast: The Middle School Staff will hold the annual hog roast on October 13, at the football field, starting around 4:00 until kickoff of the Varsity Game. Come down to the field following the Homecoming Parade/before the game and get a sandwich, chips, cookies, & drink for $5.
Hog Roast Challenge: There is a competition between grade levels to see which grade can bring in the most donated pop. The winning grade will receive a pizza party.

Language Arts – Mrs. Smith
This week, we practiced and then took a quiz over Theme. We identified the different parts of plot in the story, "The Man Who Loved to Laugh." We concluded the week with a spelling test over lesson four. Next week we will continue to practice identifying plot using various stories including,
"The Curse of Winter."
Reminder: AR points are due the 19th of October and it is FOR A GRADE. There are many students who have not yet taken a quiz.

We are almost finished with Activity 1D in our workbooks. Students have learned about human-environmental interactions. Our final activity in the geography unit will be Activity 1E. Students will learn how people, products, and ideas move from one place to another for political, environmental, social, and economic reasons. Once this is completed, we will prepare for our unit test.
Math – Miss Mautz
We will finish Module Two by reviewing it and taking our Module 2 Quiz on Thursday.
Students can also work on Prodigy, Khan Academy, & Study Island if they have any spare time on the weekends along with any night they do not have any math homework. / Science – Mr. Reyher
This week students learned to identify and describe the steps of the scientific method. Ask your student if they can tell you the steps of the scientific method. Next week we will be practicing using the scientific method by performing several mini-lab experiments. Students will have to form a hypothesis from a testable question, perform the experiments, record their results, and draw conclusions. This will be our last activity before our first unit test.
