SITUATION IDENTIFIED IN:Generate User Dialogue (tgbrg4250m000)

Dynamic Menu Browser (tgbrg4260m000)

SITUATION DESCRIPTION:

With the latest patches the rule for wich processes appear in the user menu is all of a sudden changed.

Now if I link a role directly to an activity in a detailed (sub) process, I do NOT get that detailed process directly on my

desktop, but instead I get all the main parent processes this detailed process is part of on my desktop.

I wanted only to see the detailed processes, to which I linked my role.

SOLUTION DESCRIPTION:

The solution of this problem is realized with introducing two possibilities.

Either you want the user to see the Main Business Processes in his menu or

you want the user only to see the Business Processes to which his role(s) is(are) linked (or to which

activities his role(s) is(are) linked)

OPTION 1

If you want your user to see the Main Business Processes in his menu, you have to select in "Generate

User Dialogue" by the "Type of start Business Process" the value "Main Business Processes".

The result will be, that the authorizations are set through drilling down in the main Business Processes by the

Project Model to activities and sub Business Processes. (With a large model this can take a while)

If you have generated a Dynamic Menu Browser, then the user will be able to toggle between the two

types of display (showing Main Business Processes or not showing them). This toggle will only work,

when you have "Expanded" your Business Processes in your Project Model.

(Session "Business Processes by Project Model", menu "Special->Expand Process Structure").

OPTION 2

If you want that your user only have linked Business Processes in his menu, then you have to

make sure, that you have "Expanded" your Business Processes in your Project Model.

(Session "Business Processes by Project Model", menu "Special->Expand Process Structure")

In "Generate User Dialogue" you then have to select by the "Type of start Business Process" the value "Exp. Business

Processes"

The result will be, that the authorizations are set through looking in the Business Processes you see in

the session "Business Processes by Project Model". It will only look if there is a role linked to that Business

Process or to an activity in that Business Process, it will not drill down.

If you have generated a Dynamic Menu Browser, then the user will be able to toggle between the two

types of display (showing Main Business Processes or not showing them).

Do you not want your user to be able to see Main Business Processes in the Dynamic Menu Browser,

then you have to set a resource setting.

You have to start session "Maintain Runtime Resources(ttdsk3160m000)". There you have to make/ or

change an entry for that user, package "tg" and resource set "datamodel".

You then have to set the value of the option "Show grid" to "false".
