A Weekend of Mindfulness

with

Sister Annabel

August 6, 7 & 8, 2004

Sister Annabel Laity has been commended for her clarity in explaining the practice of Buddhist meditation. She has led meditation retreats and given talks in many different countries of the world, East and West. The Order of Interbeing, to which she belongs, was founded by Dhyana Master Thich Nhat Hanh in 1966. The religious practice of this order, described as “engaged Buddhism,” allows us to conduct our spiritual practice wherever we are rather than confining spiritual practice to the meditation hall. “Engaged Buddhism” suggests that spiritual practice is not for us to strive and to toil, but to relax into the present moment and recognize that there are many wonderful things in life just as it is now.

The weekend of mindfulness starts on Friday evening and ends on Sunday late afternoon. For the retreat to run smoothly, random participation will not be accepted. Please choose to join full time or on Sunday only. Participants who wish to join full time have to send in their registration forms prior to the retreat and come for the orientation. Those who wish to come on Sunday are welcome to join in at anytime on that day.
