Second Grade dismisses from the back of the school on the playground. For the safety of your children they are not to run to you. I must see exactly who they are leaving with. If there is a change in dismissal, please print the change on a note or call the office. We cannot take the word of the student. Please tell anyone who is responsible for pick-up of this policy. Thank you.

Reading:
Congratulations to Nadia Nguyen for being our Featured Reader. Practice reading the Decodable Book every night!
The students’ will read, The Strongest One. The Focus Skills are: Recognizing Facts and Details of the Story.
The student will be introduced to Reading passages as their morning work.
The students will read the passages and answer the comprehension questions. The students will begin to answer the questions using Evidence Based Terms.
Review these sheets every night with your child.
Spelling:
The words have Consonant Diagraphs. They are: that, when, them, itch, wish, what, shape, chase, patch, math, whale, bunch.
Study Every Night!!!
Grammar:
The students will recognize Imperative and Declarative Sentences.
Math:
The students will work with money exchanges.
Social Studies:
The students read about Animal habitat in the story, A Walk in the Desert.
The students will complete an Animal Booklet. This project is due on
Monday, October 17, 2016.
