JUNE2018

LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Welcome to the SWG June Newsletter. The SWG has been busy fundraising this year in support of the Royal Voluntary Service Lancashire. To date, around £800 has been raised, and I am sure that the recipient’s will be thrilled by our collective efforts. The finale to this year’s fundraising closes with a 16½ mile charity walk along the Salter Fell track from Hornby to Slaidburn, which Rod will lead. The total amount raised for this year’s chosen charity will not be known until the all monies have been received. The SWG AGM will be held on Monday 11th June and should be an important date for your diaries. All SWG members are cordially invited to attend the meeting, where we will reaffirm or select thenew team, who will organise the SWG logistics over the coming year. Additionally, a new charity will be chosen for the coming year.If you plan to attend our AGM, let us know, so we can better organise our catering, as there will be a hot supper provided. Finally, we have a FULL diary of events planned over the next few months and even some local evening walks, details to follow.I do hope that you will attend as many as you can and enjoy them all. Happy walking! Derek Harper, Chairman.
