Responsible for interview/audition and selection procedure. Co-ordination of clinical placements during entire integrated 5-year program. Senior Researcher in The Grieg Academy Music Therapy Research Centre. Full member of the Interprofessional Education Programme (TVEPS) and related Interprofessional Research Group (TVEPS Research).

RESEARCH GRANTS/PROJECTS

November 2013-: Grieg Academy Research Grant UiB: ‘In Corporeal Time’: An exploration of the musicological and cardiovascular ecology of music making and listening. Though the two entities, cardiovascular activity and musicological structure are most commonly hidden to visual perception, this study will explore the ways in which theoretical and practical elicitations of the two entities are possible. Heart rate measurements of 5 musicians and 5 audience members and video and notated transcription of musical interaction. Grant value: 12.000 Norwegian Kroner.

February 2013-: Grieg Academy Research Grant, UiB. ‘In Audible Movements’: A multidisciplinary collaborative research project investigating interrelations between physical movement and musical structures in multidisciplinary music improvisation. Multiple camera and qualitative data analysis. Grant value: 72.000 Norwegian Kroner.

February 2012-Dec 2015: Grieg Academy Creative Arts Research Grant, UiB. ‘In Visible Hands’: A creative arts project investigating the meaning given to embodiment in music therapy practice using sculpture and qualitative analysis of therapist’s narratives on the use and meaning of their hands in music therapy. Grant providing for materials: 3500,- Norwegian Kroner.

June 2012 University of Bergen: Participant in an application for funding for a Centre of Excellence to the Norwegian Research Council led by Prof. Brynjulf Stige. Involvement in creating work package related to neurological basic- and applied research in music therapy. Grant was not awarded.

January 2008: University of Limerick Faculty Research Seed Funding. Building music therapy research capacity on the island of Ireland. An investigation into the current state of research. Grant supporting travel and equipment: 1489 EUR.

August 2005: University of Witten/Herdecke: "CaseBase": Co-author of a research grant awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the development and creation of a research database of case material related to music therapy and children who had experienced traumatic brain injury. Project was not implemented due to Institute closure. Value of grant: Full salary for a research fellow in full-time employment for 2 years plus student researcher support.
