Our neighbor, Jim Smoot is considered to be one of the premier farmers in the Paso Robles area, his Merlot vineyards consistently produces superior fruit. Our 2004 Bianchi Merlot reflects that care and attention that Jim has dedicated to his vineyards.
The grapes were picked ripe at 25.2 brix. This yielded a wonderfully jammy-cherry, merlot flavor and added rich brick-purple hues. The 19 months of aging in French and American oak have married all of this goodness with vanilla and wood spices.
