Responsible / Actions
Recertification :
TAY SoS Coordinating group is in favor of sending the current 4 Site Based Trainers to California for recertification in February 2016 dates TBD.
Reasons for recertifying in California include:
  • One time funding is available and designated for this purpose
  • First time for recertification, no one has had the experience to be able to copy it within Simcoe Muskoka
  • High quality training experience for SBT
  • Reward effort of SBT
  • SBT will come back to tell us how to do things better and inform the TAY SoS of how things could happen in the future
Céleste Lalonde (CAMH) contacted Joseph Solomita, Managing Director of Stars Training Academy, Stars Behavioral Health Group, has informed his assistant Antashia Moore of our desire to register our four SBT and she will make a note to get back in touch as the training date approaches.
He is always available to the Simcoe Muskoka TIP Community for further consultations or arranging additional TIP Trainings. / Céleste to send email to SBT

NEW idea: TIP Summer School in Simcoe Muskoka
Céleste Lalonde (CAMH) spoke with Alan Cudmore (CAMH) of the Hamilton Service Collaborative – June 12 2015
This Fall, in September he would like to start talks with TAY SoS Partnership:
The idea of a TIP Summer school came up– for recertification in Simcoe Muskoka - pool money get hotel rooms for SBT, STARS, etc.
Summer 2016 - We would like to certify 2 more trainers for next summer and they could recertify trainers from Hamilton and Waterloo Wellington – Piggy back on what’s happening – Alan can help negotiate.
2 new plus 6 recerts Hamilton 5 WW – We would have to figure out who pays for what.
Food, room rentals, hotel rooms, etc – one contract for the same trip / Céleste Lalonde*
Alan Cudmore
And who else
SBT / Negotiate STARS training for 2 new and summer school for our SBT and recert for Hamilton and WW SBT
Contract Negotiations:
When negotiating a contract with Stars Training Academy, Stars Behavioral Health Group:
STARS – Coral Huntsman and Adèle Aparicio need a work permit make sure they are ok to work in Canada – this is something arranged at their end. Agency shouldn’t have to do anything except sign contract.
Labour Market opinion Waiver (lower level) – the work permit is higher level. / No action required
