Parts Manual
/ Tank to come with a parts manual.Parts manual to include dip chart for calculating liters contained in the tank.
The tank manufacturer’s recommended maintenance and installation instructions must be included.
Shop drawings used to build the tank.
Parts manual must list items used to construct the tank along with name of original equipment manufacturer.
Parts manuals from third party manufacturers must also be included.
Tank specific quality control sheets are required.
Parts manual must also include tank warranty details.
Tank
/ Tank capacity of 50,000 Liters.Tank length not to exceed 22’
Tank diameter not to exceed 10’ 11”.
Tank conforms to ULC-S601-93 specifications.
Tank air tested to 3-5 PSI.
Tank heads are to be flanged.
Tank to be equipped with a water draw off and dipping port.
Tank to be equipped with lifting lugs.
Tank to be equipped with grounding lugs.
Standard ULC, Tank Content and Warning decals required.
Secondary containment shall extend to cover 300 degrees of the primary tank.

Exterior Finish
/ Sandblasted to SSPC-SP6 (brush blast)Exterior to be finished with a two coat painting system to insure complete paint coverage.
Primer to be Phillips epoxy grey.
Primer to be applied to 2-3 total mils. (DFT)
Paint to be Phillips high build white enamel. (or customer specified colors)
Paint to be applied to 2-3 total mils. (DFT)
Interior Finish
/ Available if required.Skid & Supports
(Other Options Available) / Tank to be equipped with four formed supports.These supports are to run parallel with the tank so that the tank can be towed without damage.
Access to Tank Top
(Other Options Available) / Tank to be equipped with folding lockable stairs and 8’ of catwalk.Stairs and catwalk are to be galvanized to eliminate rust.
The stairs must fold and lock to limit access to the top of the tank by unauthorized personnel.
Handrails are to be designed to meet the national building code.
The stairs and catwalk must be designed so that they can be shipped installed thus reducing onsite labor.
The catwalk must reach all necessary fittings including other compartments if the tank is a multi compartment tank.
Catwalk and stair treads to be constructed of non-slip grating.
Handrails must fold down so they can be shipped installed.
Venting
/ Tank to be equipped with ULC approved emergency vent.Emergency venting of the interstice must be supplied and installed on the tank to meet ULC requirements.
Tank to be equipped with Vent cap and riser pipe.
If the liquid stored is prone to evaporation the vent cap must be a pressure vacuum vent.
The vent size must be equal or larger than the fill port.
Vacuum Monitoring
/ A vacuum must be drawn on the interstice, (space between the primary and the secondary tank) causing a void of atmosphere, which must be monitored.A vacuum gauge is shipped installed on the tank to monitor the interstice.
Filling
(Other Options Available) / 24” manhole/ spill box c/w lockable hinged cover and removable fitting plate.Fitting plate c/w fill port, 2” dip port & ¾” spill box drain port
Overfill Prevention
(Other Options Available) / Tank to be equipped with an overfill prevention alarm.Alarm control box must be designed to ship installed on the tank.
The control box must be suitable for a hazardous location as per “The Canadian Electrical Code”.
Overfill alarm to be set to sound when the tank’s fluid level reaches 95% thus indicating that filling procedure must be stopped.
Discharge
(Other Options Available) / Tank to be equipped with a 4” coupler.Tank discharge should also come equipped with a 2” suction tube. The suction tube must be 5” from the bottom of the tank to prevent discharge of water that may collect in the bottom of the tank.
Discharge to be equipped with a 2” anti-siphon valve.
Gauging
(Other Options Available) / One-piece metric dipstick with wear button required.Spare Fittings / Tank to be equipped with spare fittings to accommodate future requirements such as tank gauging.
All spare couplings must c/w steel plugs.
