General objectives (6th grade / Elementary education )

By the end of this school year the pupils will be able to :

ü  Use everyday life vocabulary, and talk about the daily routine.

ü  Make descriptions of people’s clothes, using vocabulary learnt the previous year.

ü  Know how to form the plural of nouns (regular and irregular plural).

ü  Talk about their likes and dislikes using the phrases I’d like to / My favorite … etc.

ü  Speak about eating habits, favorite food using the right vocabulary.

ü  Make longer descriptions of a house, its position, its rooms, the furniture etc.

ü  Talk about family relations, using the possessive case and the cases it has got in sentences.

ü  Use in sentences the modal verbs of advice, suggestion, obligation etc: can / may / would / should / have to / must.

ü  Know some of the basic uses of Present simple and Present continuous tense.

ü  Learn the adverbs of manner (well, quickly etc) / frequency ( always, never, often etc) know where to use them in a sentence.

ü  Identify the prepositions of location ( next to / behind / opposite / near etc)and use them in simple sentences.

ü  Learn the past simple tense and the way we form the past simple of regular and irregular verbs.

ü  Identify the comparative and superlative degrees of the adjectives, and the transformations that they take.

ü  Learn the fixed order of the words in English language.

ü  Know how to use present continuous in order to show future intentions.
