Shirley Stroud ~

Shirley Stroud was born in Montana to a hard working farming family. She was the youngest of four children. Nothing was ever just given to Shirley ~ she had to work for everything she got. Shirley studied hard and achieved the honor of Valedictorian of her High School class. She earned college scholarships to help pay tuition, as the family could not afford to pay for higher education. She had an insatiable hunger for knowledge. In college she was always one of the top students in every class, but that came with a lot of dedication to studies and commitment to each program. With having a strong work ethic, Shirley was able to succeed in business as well. She built a very successful real estate business, in spite of suffering from breast cancer for over 20 years. Her involvement in the local community will never be forgotten. She worked diligently with fellow Realtors, business owners, and fellow citizens to help achieve whatever goal was on the agenda.

Shirley would be very proud and honored to know that she was instrumental in the founding of this scholarship program. The recipient will have an opportunity to further his/her education on behalf of Shirley’s generosity and willingness to help anyone succeed, if they are willing to work.
