  1. These shows are sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association and its rules shall govern. There will be three Combined Doe Shows and three Junior Doe Shows. They are sanctioned for the following breeds: COMBINED DOE SHOWS: Alpines, LaManchas, Nigerians, Nubians, Oberhasli, Saanens, AOP and Recorded Grades; JUNIOR DOE SHOWS: Alpines, LaManchas, Nigerians, Nubians, Oberhasli, Saanens, AOP and Recorded Grades. The Combined Showsand Junior Shows are separately sanctioned. Show order is subject to change only in case of any problem asdetermined by the show committee. Since this is a triple ring for 2016 only, it will make for a bit longer show day. So please, if you are exhibiting multiple breeds, then please make certain you have enough handlers, as the show will not wait long for you if you are in another ring.
  2. The base date for computing the age of the doe entered is May 28, 2016.
  3. Health Regulations: All out-of-state exhibitors must have a health certificate signed by a veterinarian within 30 days of the show. WV herds: either an honor herd certificate or a CVI is needed.. All animals will be checked for contagious disease (sore mouth, pink-eye, ring worm, open abscess, etc) by the show committee or veterinarian. Any herds exhibiting signs will not be allowed to show. The decision of the show committee is final.
  4. The original registration is required for all animals. A stamped duplicate (good for 30 days from date of issue) will be accepted for all animals under six months of age.
  5. Check-in will begin no later than 7:30 AM on Saturday. Animals must be on the grounds by 8:00 AM.Showmanship classes will begin at 8:00 AM sharp. Breed classes will begin at 8:30 AM or immediately after the showmanship classes, with the combined shows in all rings followed by the raffle and then junior does. Arrival on Friday May 22 will be allowed after 6 PM. Your name will be posted on your assigned pens.
  6. Early entry fee is $6 per head per ringpostmarked on or beforeSaturday, May 14. Late entry fees are $10 per animal per ring and must be postmarked by Saturday, May 21. Entries received after that date or day-of-show are $15 per head per ring. Substitutions will be allowed within the breed in the same show only. Pen sizes are 4x6 for standard goats in the hog barn. Nigerianswill be housed in the goat barn green pens only. Do not use any silver pens in the goat barn. The fairgrounds' charge for any other barn usage is $200. The fee for tack or animal pens is $5 per pen. Straw is not provided. If you are not paying for pens and showing your does from out of a trailer or truck, there is a $10 fee. Trailer areas MUST BE CLEANED before leaving.
  7. All Best of Breed winners must be present for the Best Doe in Show class.
  8. MDGA, SDGA, ADGA, and the Jefferson County Fairgrounds will not be responsible for loss, damage, or accident to any person or property. Show entry indicates acceptance of all conditions in this form.
  9. Dogs are not permitted in the barns or in the show ring area.
  10. There will be a $35 bank fee charged for any returned checks.
  11. A show book table will be located near one of the secretary's tables where all exhibitors should place their show books after checking in. The show books should remain there until the exhibitors are done showing for the day.
  12. A4H food booth located in close proximity to the show ring will providea quality breakfast and lunch menu. Please support them!

RAFFLE: Our regular big raffle will be held between the Combined Doe and Junior Doe Shows. We sincerely appreciate your donations and participation in this fundraiser which keeps the Leetown show afloat.

DIRECTIONS: From I-81 North/South take WV exit #12. Follow Rt 45 east which leads into route 9 east (towards Charles Town). Continue on Rt 9 East. Take the Wiltshire Rd exit. Turn right. Follow Wiltshire Rd to the “T” intersection, turn right onto Old Leetown Pike and the fairgrounds are on the right.

From Maryland I-70/270 follow route 340 west through Harpers Ferry and take a right onto Rt 9 west. Follow Route 9 to the Wiltshire Rd exit. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Wiltshire Rd. FollowWiltshire Rd to the end. Turn right onto Old Leetown Pike. Fairgrounds are on the right.

For 2016 only, the Maryland DGA will be awarding premiums to ALL Junior and Senior Showmanship participants with 1st place: $25, 2nd:$20, 3rd: $15, 4th: $10 and all other Junior and Senior participants will receive $5; Munchin Hill Farm will donate $25 to the first place Adult Showman providing there are two or more competitors. Sponsored prizes will also be awarded to the Novice Showmen.
