Tom noted that he has updated us with the State.

The new section of the Statute regarding our duties was passed by the legislature.

We still have to take the State mandated ethics training and Tom is continuing to wrestle with the password confusion.

Tom will check on the quorum requirements to ensure we stay in compliance.

Old Business

Mike Schantz noted that the Grant cycle is coming up and we have to plan and conduct an exercise related to Hazardous Materials and that it must consist of 20% direct and indirect expenses. He noted that a seminar, workshop or tabletop exercise would be best for this year and that a pipeline related topic would be a good fit. The exercise plan must be submitted by June 16 for us to qualify for the 2014 Grant funding.

Financially we are doing well. In 2011 we received $21,000 and $6,051 in 2012. The balance as of the end of 2012 was $47,658.41.

New Business

Keith England informed the committee that they are using confiscated drug money to buy a robot and asked the LEPC committee to fund the add-on device that will check for gas and radiation hazards which costs $3,080. Tony Logan submitted a motion to fund the add-on and Jeff Williams seconded the motion which passed.

Mike Schantz submitted a motion to allow five people attend the 2013 FBI/IDEA WMD Preparedness and Anti-Terrorism Training September 10-11 at IUPUI. https://www.indianadea.com/ Registration closes August 30th.

Dennis Parks motioned to accept this proposal which was seconded by David Tilford and passed by the Committee.
