Dear Families,
Welcome to November! I hope that everyone had a great Halloween and that you got the chance to vote this week. We have lots of events coming up this month. One of which is our annual Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 9th for the students so they can learn about and honor those that have served our country.
The week of November 16th-20th starts the district wide canned food drive, please send in canned goods and nonperishable items to the school during this week. All food collected will be distributed throughout Carroll County to support families in need. Last year, KWP collected the most canned goods out of the entire district and was able to stuff a bus! Let’s stuff the bus again this year!
The annual KWP Thanksgiving lunch will be on Friday, November 20th. Families can come eat with their child during their assigned lunch time. Please fill out the reservation form that went home on Monday and return. Also, on this day you will get the opportunity to go back to your child’s classroom after lunch to hear student presentations about Leader in Me.
Finally, we are now embarking on the holiday season, with Thanksgiving around the corner. I hope that all our families get a chance to be thankful with family and friends, I know that I will!

“Sharpen the Saw” Family 3K Fun Run

Our fall festival event this year sponsored by the PTA was held on Saturday, October 17th. I want to thank all the parents and staff that came out to support and volunteer at this event. The kids and families that came enjoyed a beautiful day to walk around collecting tricks and treats (playing games). This was a new event and we would appreciate feedback. You can send an email to our PTA President, MaKayla Bates at .

Finally, the PTA is always looking for parents to help with upcoming events. The next event, Parent’s Day Out, will be Saturday, December 12th. This will be an opportunity for families to drop off KWP students from 10am -1pm for $5.00 each to enjoy a movie and popcorn while parents get out and do some holiday shopping.

Mission and Vision Statements- Your Feedback is Needed!

The KWP staff this summer thought long and hard about what they want for our students here a KWP and how to articulate that so that anyone walking into our building would know our vision and mission. These statements encompass who we are as a school. The vision is what we want for our students and the mission is how we are going to do it. The staff worked really hard to make the statements simple and relatable not only to adults but to the students as well. So, below is what the staff came up with and now we want parent feedback. Please email me at with any comments and/or suggestions by November 20th. At our next council meeting at the end of November we want to approve a vision and mission.

Vision: Panther Cubs Lead and Learn with Pride, Passion and Purpose!

Mission: To Ensure High Levels of Learning for All Leaders!
