SHARJAH ART FOUNDATION RESIDENCIES APPLICATION FORM

Sharjah Art Foundation Residency Programme offers visiting art practitioners; artists, researchers, writers and curators a residency in Sharjah, to research and produce projects.

Residencies are offered by invitation or through call for applications. While the specific aims of the residency may vary, we look for proposals that reflect, in a broad sense, an interest and engagement with the regional context. With this programme we aim to promote the possibilities of exchange between art practitioners, the local community and the broader cultural landscape.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

We welcome proposals from artists, collectives, writers, researchers and curators. The collaborations may be between visual artists and choreographers, composers, filmmakers, writers, curators, theorists or other professionals working in fields such as science or philosophy.

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

Proposals can be made for research and/or the realization of proposed projects for any media including time-based media, installation, sculpture, artist books, research, performance, or exhibition.

BUDGET

The selected art practitioners will be invited by the Foundation for a maximum of three months to complete their proposals. The invitation includes roundtrip travel, accommodation and a modest living allowance. Further funding of up to $10,000 is available for the realization of proposed projects.
