Arburg showcases Allrounder 420 C Golden Edition at Chinaplas
Presentation of the Allrounder Golden Edition
Lossburg. The Arburg highlight at the 20thedition Chinaplas fair taking place in this celebrating year from 26 – 29 April will doubtless be the Allrounder Golden Edition. On display in Shanghai will be the Allrounder 420 C Golden Edition from the anniversary series. A total of three Allrounders will be presented at the Arburg stand, G51 in Hall W2. As with all the company’s trade fair appearances this year, ARBURG's 170 square metre exhibition stand at the Chinaplas will highlight the company’s celebration, marking "50 years of ARBURG injection moulding machines."
On 14 February, a special official kick-off celebration for the 2006 anniversary year was held at the company headquarters in Lossburg, Germany. Additional anniversary celebrations followed in 40 countries worldwide on the premises of subsidiaries and trading partners. Arburg’s golden anniversary was also celebrated in Shenzen (organised by the Arburg subsidiary in Hong Kong) and in Shanghai.
Allrounder Golden Edition
The Allrounder Golden Edition is a cost-effective hydraulic machine with a wide range of applications, thanks to state-of-the-art Arburg technical components, comprehensive equipment and the modern control alternative Selogica direct. The anniversary Allrounder combines a practice-oriented clamping force range from 400 to 2000 kN, new injection units and an attractive price.
All Allrounder Golden Edition machines are equipped as standard with the modern control alternative Selogica direct, which guarantees improved user friendliness with simple and clear menu navigation.
Arburg provides an adapted list of options so that the basic machine can be adjusted even more precisely to the injection moulding requirements at hand. The implementation of selected additional services facilitates internal planning and production scheduling, so that customers benefit from short delivery times.
Technical features
The Golden Edition Allrounder machines will be the first to feature the new Allrounder U fast-switching valve technology, which further improves the precision of the moulded parts. Due to the ergonomic arrangement of the valves, the control precision is correspondingly high. The servo-controlled, hydraulic drive works with two pumps to allow machine movements that save cycle time. The new Allrounders are characterised by low energy consumption, thanks to their adapted hydraulic drive power.
Of course, the proven quality of the Arburg clamping units is also found on the anniversary machine. The superior quality of the design and technical details remains unchanged. The central cylinder technology allows extremely precise machine movements. To a large extent, the injection units have been adopted from the new Allrounder U. Thanks to their practice-oriented dimensioning, they can be used effectively for a wide range of production tasks. In addition to the 800 injection unit familiar from the Allrounder C, a total of four other injection units are also used: injection units in the sizes 70, 170, 290 and 400 can be equipped with screw diameters from 18 to 55 millimetres. This allows for moulded part weights from 2 to 434 g. The basic equipment package includes a highly wear-resistant cylinder for a long service life and injection control.
Allrounder Golden Edition at the Chinaplas
In Shanghai, Arburg is showing an Allrounder 420 C Golden Edition featuring a clamping force of 1000 kN and a size 290 injection unit. This enables the production of moulded parts weighing from 10 to 172 g of PS. Using a two-cavity mould made by Oechsler, a cogwheel will be made in a cycle time of 25 seconds. The moulded part made of POM weighs 20.6 grams.
Additional exhibits
As well as the anniversary exhibit, two additional Allrounders and the Themolift 100-2 combined material drying and conveying system will also be on display.
The exhibited Allrounder 420 A 1000-400 features a clamping force of 1000 kN and a size 400 injection unit, which allows for moulded part weights of 15 to 232 g of PS. Using a two-cavity mould, a cup made of PP will be produced in a cycle time of 2.2 seconds. The cup, with a part weight of 8.4 grams, is demoulded by means of an electro-mechanical ejector.
The last of the three machines on display, an Allrounder 420 C 1000-150/150, will be running a two-component application using a thermoplastic material. An ice scraper will be produced in a 1+1 mould from LSR and PC in a cycle time of 62 seconds using specialised LSR processing equipment. The shot weight for this application is 38.5 grams.
Through its participation in the Chinaplas 2006 and the official introduction of the Allrounder Golden Edition in China, Arburg makes a concerted effort to underscore the importance of the Chinese market for its own growth as a company.

Premiere of a special anniversary series: At Chinaplas, Arburg will present in the anniversary year 2006 the new series Allrounder C Golden Edition. The exhibit Allrounder 420 C Golden Edition has a clamping force of 1,000 kN and is one of five machines in the anniversary series.
As the largest scale in history, Chinaplas 2006 will reach an exhibition area of 92,000 sqm, with participation of 1,300 exhibitors and ten group pavilions from Austria, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, PR China and Taiwan Province, United Kingdom and USA.
