Welcome to Surrey Gymnastic Society’s

SGS ALL STARS INTERCLUB PROGRAM!

Program Description

The SGS All Stars Interclub program was created for girls who were looking for more than just a weekly recreational gymnastics class. These girls have mastered basic gymnastic skills, have a positive attitude, and show a love for the sport of gymnastics. This program provides opportunities to recreational athletes that allows them to be part of a team, learn routines, and showcase what they have learned through individual performances at competitions in the lower mainland. The All Stars Interclub program allows athletes to continue to work on their skill development and to perform in meet-type setting for athletes of all skill level. Class time is spent working on skills to be placed into routines, the learning and perfecting those routines.

All forms must be filled out and returned with all cheques or credit card information to secure a spot in the program. Upon registration there is a $40.00 Gymnastics BC registration fee for all Interclub Athletes.

As this program is more involved than regular Recreational Programs, a 10 month commitment is required. Classes begin in September and run until the end of June.

  1. If you withdraw from this program, we require 30 days’ notice.
  2. If you have to withdraw temporarily for any reason, we require 25% of monthly fees to hold your daughters spot.

Family Commitment Points – Here at SGS we are all committed to making this the best experience for our families. In order to do this, we need everyone to help out where they can. We require each family to earn commitment points throughout the year (25 point X number of training hours) and these points can be acquired in a number of ways. Some examples of this are set-up or tear down, volunteering for the Surrey Invitational, being a board member, helping at community events, fundraising, etc. You hand in a post-dated cheque for $______dated for June 20, 2017 and if you have received all your commitment points, the cheque is returned to you. If you have not received all your points, your cheque will be cashed.

Juniors must earn 25 points X 4 hours (100 points)

Seniors must earn 25 points X 6 hours (150 points)

Absences -If your child is going to miss class for whatever reason, we would appreciate an email or a phone call to relay a message to the coaches. Missed classes will not be refunded but if more than two weeks of classes are missed due to illness or injury, SGS will hold payments. A doctor’s note must be provided and the office must be informed of the situation immediately.

Make up classes will not be offered for missed classes.

Uniforms

SGS All Stars will be required to purchase a team bodysuit and sweater. The cost for the bodysuit is $70.00 and the jacket is $50 (approx). Athletes are expected to wear these at competitions.

***These will not be changing from the 2015/2016 season

Meets and Performances

Interclub Meets: These are positive and fun events where athletes perform individual routines. It is done in a non-competitive setting and routines are evaluated and certificates are given to all athletes. Registration typically costs $60.00 to$80.00 and it is expected that SGS All Star members participate in at least two event per season. Typically, we will have 3-5 to choose from around the lower mainland. Senior Interclub athletes will be in the performance plus category and the Junior athletes will be in the Performance category. Please feel free to browse the Gymnastics BC website for more information on these categories.

***Surrey Invitational – this is our competition that we host at the Guildford Rec. Center each year. It is always the first weekend of March. For this event to be successful, we must ALL participate in one way or another. Each family will be required to volunteer at two sessions during the weekend (we encourage more if your schedule permits it!). If you are unable to commit to working for a session, you can substitute time for donations. Sign-up sheets will be in the lobby starting in February.

It is going to be an exciting season for the SGS All Stars! Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the coaches
