SFMS Football 2016-2017
Players and Parents,
As your new head coach at SFMS, I am honored, excited and privileged to begin the 2016 Football Season. Please read the information below then complete and return the attached permission form by Friday, Feb. 19.
This year we will be conducting tryouts during spring football. The tryouts are scheduled to start on Monday, May 2nd and will continue through Friday, May 13th. Practices will be from 4:30- 6:30pm during the weekdays. Please make every attempt possible to keep these dates clear. If students are involved in spring sports, conflicts need to be communicated to Coach Waddell prior to May 1st.
There will be a parent meeting held before spring football. I will send information home as soon as details are available. Please check the football webpage ( for information about the meeting date and for additional information over the course of the season.
SFMS will be hosting a strength, speed, and agility camp over the summer. The camp is organized through the parks and rec department and will be led by the South Middle strength and conditioning coaches. The program is designed to help athletes enhance basic skills (strength, speed, agility, balance, etc.) needed in all sports. The registration will be available on the Forsyth County Parks and Rec website as soon as they update for summer activities.

Eagle Pride
Thank you for showing interest in being a part of the 2016- 2017 SFMS Football Team. One of the key parts of ensuring success during the season is to continue to develop the strength, speed, and agility of each athlete. It is expected that each individual attending football tryouts participate in Eagle Pride morning workouts. The schedule for Eagle Pride is attached below for your planning purposes.
