SFC Theodore J. Savercool is a native of Houghton Lake, Michigan. He graduated from high school in 1988 and enlisted in the Army in 1991 as a Records Specialist. While serving in the Army, SFC Savercool completed his Associates Degree from Excelsior College in 2012.
Upon completion of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training in 1991, SFC Savercool had a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) to Augsburg, Germany assigned to 569th Personnel Services Battalion where he served as a Records Specialist. His second PCS was to Fort Carson, Colorado assigned to 4th Personnel Services Battalion where he served as a Evaluations Specialist. His third PCS was to Vicenza, Italy assigned to 510th Personnel Services Battalion where he served as a Promotions NCOIC. His fourth PCS was to Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia assigned to 224th Military Intelligence Battalion where he served as a Personnel Action Center NCOIC. His fifth PCS was to Fort Richardson, Alaska assigned to US Army Special Troops Battalion where he served as Personnel Action Center NCOIC. During his assignment he deployed to Qatar as an Individual Mobilization Augmentation (IMA) attached to Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT). His sixth PCS was to Fort Jackson, South Carolina assigned to United States Army Soldiers Support Institute where he served as a Instructor/Writer. His seventh PCS was to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska assigned to 2-377th PFAR where he served as Senior Personnel Sergeant. In 2010, he was selected to serve as a Platoon Sergeant in A Company, Warrior Transition Battalion-Alaska. In 2011, he was selected to serve as First Sergeant in HHD, Warrior Transition Battalion-Alaska.
SFC Savercool’s military education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commission Officer Course, Instructor Trainer Course, Warrior Transition Unit Cadre Orientation Course, Senior Leader Course, Unit Prevention Leader, Northern Warfare Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, and the Digital Trainer Management System Course.
SFC Savercool’s awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, National Service Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2BS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 8), Combat Action Badge, Drivers Badge, NATO Medal, and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3).
SFC Savercool is married and has four sons and a daughter.
