May 17, 2015 –Seventh Sunday of Easter
“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God.” – 1 John 4:15
How strong is your faith? When you have an opportunity to defend your faith or clarify a question about your faith, do you do it? Or, do you remain silent so that others don’t think you are different? Pray for the courage to be strong in your faith and share your witness with others.
Once a month we will be highlighting one of the many ministries here at Corpus Christi.
Ushers
Ushers assist the congregation in seating, collecting the offerings, coordinating the presentation of the gifts and distribution of bulletins. Ushers are needed at all masses and serve weekly. If you are interested in becoming an usher, please contact the parish office.

World Meeting of Families 2015
“Pope Francis will be celebrating Mass in Philadelphia, at the World Meeting of Families, on Sunday September 27th. It will be an outdoor Mass, and seats will not be set up by the event organizers. We are not sure at this time, if they will allow pilgrims to bring in their own folding chairs. Tickets to the Mass will not be given out or sold either – it is open to the general public: first come-first served.
With that being said, if anyone is still interested in going via a bus from Corpus Christi, at a cost of $40 to $50 per bus ticket-per person, please call the parish office. The bus would leave approximately by 9:00 a.m. for the Mass which is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.”
In support of the World Meeting of Families gathering in September, the Church has asked all Catholics to pray the official WMOF prayer. It is to be prayed before mass. Here at Corpus Christi it is to be found on the back flap of our green hymnals, in both English and Portuguese.
This Weekend May 16-17, 2015 – A representative of The Corona Self-Help Center, Inc. or, Drogadictos Anonimos (DA) will give a brief personal testimony at all weekend masses. D.A. is an organization with roots in Mexico that works with individuals and families suffering with substance abuse problems. D.A.’s recovery programs are drug-free residential settings, with treatment stages reflecting increased levels of personal and social responsibilities. With an approach similar to other 12-step programs, D.A. particularly serves those most in need. All D.A. representatives are former drug addicts who have found a new lease on life because of the spiritual component and programs offered them by D.A.
