Settings to optimize Survey Tool display for Internet Explorer 11
- Make sure zoom is set to 100%
In upper right corner of screen click on cog wheel as shown in screen shot below:
Check zoom percent as shown in screen shot below:
If zoom percent is greater than 100%, then click on 100% as shown in screen shot below; and zoom percent will be changed to 100%:
- Make sure that the General Settings for Browsing History for Temporary Internet Files are set to Check for newer versions of stored pages “Every time I visit the web page”. To do this, in the upper left corner of the screen, click on the Tools menu item as shown in the screen shot below:
Click on the Internet options menu item as shown in the screen shot below:
A new window is going to open for Internet Options as shown below. On the General tab under the Browsing history section, click on the Settings button as indicated by the red arrow below:
A new window for Website Data Settings is going to open as shown below. Make sure that on the Temporary Internet Files tab the first option for “Every time I visit the webpage” is selected under Check for newer versions of stored pages. Click the OK button which will return you to the Internet Options window.
After getting to the Internet Options window (shown below) by clicking OK on the Website Data Settings window, click the OK button to close the window.
- Make sure that unc.edu is added to Compatibility View settings; and that all available boxes for Compatibility View settings are checked. To do this, in the upper left corner of the screen, click on the Tools menu item as shown in the screen shot below:
Click on the Compatibility View settings menu item as shown in the screen shot below:
A new window is going to open for Compatibility View Settings as shown below. The box/field labeled “Add this website” should be pre-filled with unc.edu. If it is not, type it in the box and click Add:
When you click the Add button, unc.edu moves from the “Add this website” field to the box labeled “Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View” as shown below. Note that all boxes at the bottom of the Compatibility View Settings window should be checked, then click Close.
After you have performed the preceding steps, if clicking Search to get a new record set within the Survey Tool does not reflect improvement in the display; you may want to totally close out of Internet Explorer (all windows), then try going back in to see if there is improvement in the display. If there still is no improvement in the display, please let us know so that we can forward the issue for further investigation.
