Position / : / Executive Director of APPA Fund for Technical Cooperation
Location / Cotonou, BENIN
Role / : / Concretise the implementation of the APPA Fund’s strategic vision by developing its operational activities in view of the realization of the objectives of the Association. The Executive Director is the principal executive administrator of the APPA Fund and shall be responsible to the Council of Ministers.
Responsibilities / : / As the Chief Executive of the Fund’s Office in Cotonou, the successful candidateshall have the responsibilities of:
  1. Implementing the Fund’s Business Plan in accordance with the vision of the Association and the Fund’s mandate
  1. Setting up and implementing the annual operational programmes
  1. Drafting the Fund’s yearly budget
  1. Collecting share-related dues for the Fund’s Equity capital
  1. Receiving and processing applications for funding
  1. Presenting applications for financial support to the appropriate bodies of the Fund for approval
  1. Setting up of the Fund’s activities reports and presenting them to the Council of Ministers
  1. Preparing the meetings of the Council of Ministers and the Committee of Experts
  1. Carrying out any other assignments directed by the APPA’s Committee of Experts and Council of Ministers.
  1. Running the Fund’s daily operations.

Qualifications / : /
  • Candidates should originate from any one of the APPA Member Countries.
  • The referred candidate must be a graduate in the field of Engineering, or Economics, or Banking, Finance, Accounting.
  • The referred candidate must have worked in both the financial sector as well as petroleum industry, with at least ten (10) years experience. Five (5) years must be in a managerial position.
  • Self-motivation and commitment are essential.
  • Leadership abilities and capacity to work with a team as well as organizational aptitude, dynamism, availability and integrity.
  • Abilities to make decisions build relationships and work with a variety of financial institutions, governmental, regional and multilateral organizations.
  • Having a perceptive mind and having good communicating skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English or French (the Association’s two working languages),with a good knowledge (written and spoken) of the other language.
  • .Full knowledge of computer literacy.
  • 40 years old minimum at the time of application

Remuneration Package / : / The salary and related allowances attached to the position are competitive and similar to those offered by international organizations for similar positions. Specifically speaking, in addition to the basic salary, there are tax-free allowances and incentives, together with a result-based bonus
