The next General membership meeting isscheduled for MondayeveningJanuary 5, 2015 at 7:00pmin Suite 202 on the 2nd Floor of 205 Robin Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.The Executive Board will meet at 5:00pm at the UNION OFFICE on Robin Road before the General Meeting.

From President O’Brien: Legislation authored by NJ State Senator Paul Sarlo that would help combine the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority with the Meadowlands Commission and reestablish the Hackensack Meadowlands Transportation Planning District in one agency was approved by the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee on Monday, 12/15/14. “A unified agency to coordinate and plan for economic growth and infrastructure improvements in the Meadowlands region is the most effective way to realize smart growth, provide municipal services, control flooding and complete development of the Sports Complex,” said Senator Sarlo, the chairman of the budget committee, in a statement. The bill, S-2647, was approved by the committee 8 to 4.

During the hearing, Senator Sarlo committed to insuring that the IZOD Center will remain a “Sports and Entertainment Arena”. Our thanks to Senator Sarlo for authoring and posting this bill in Committee, and to the Assembly members who approved the billin their Committee.

Unfinished Business: At the January 5, 2015 Union Meeting there will be third reading, discussion, and vote, on a proposed Constitution & By-Laws amendment with regards to the following (new language in italics):

Article Seven Duties of Officers

Section 3Business Agents

Par. 11 The Stage Business Agent shall receive a salary of $1,000.00 per month and the Projection Business Agent shall receive a salary of $1,000.00 per month. Such salaries shall remain unchanged unless decreased by amendment of this Constitution approved by the body on or before the month of December prior to the May election. Such amendment shall become effective on the day immediately preceding the regular election.

In addition to the salary of $1,000.00 per month, the Stage Business Manager will be compensated at the floor foreman’s rate per the MetLife Stadium Tri-State contract on an eight (8) hour minimum per day as needed to consummate the business of his office as Stage Business Manager of Local 632 IATSE.

From Financial Secretary Joe Feola:The Local is awaiting the 2015 Membership cards and stamps from the International. A reminder that stamps are $75.00 per quarter. In order to receive your 2015 Union card you must be current with all dues and pc tax assessments from the year ending 2014. To obtain an IA road card members must first purchase all 4 stamps for the year.

At the January 5, 2015 Union meeting the following persons will face an expulsion vote from membership for non-payment of their dues: Erwin DeLosSantos, Ralph Grasso, James Mullen, Patrick Ogrodnik, Thomas Percarpio, Tara Perez, Paul Phillips, Rick Reckner, Marc Rodriguez, and David Trundle.
