PURPOSE FOR WHICH THE INFORMATION IS BEING SOUGHT:
1 / To allow investigation of statutory nuisances, environmental offences and service requests.
2 / To administer environmental permits and animal-related licences.
3 / To administer the regulation of private water supplies.
4 / To administer the regulation of contaminated land.
5 / To administer the statutory stray dog function.
INFORMATION WILL BE HELD IN THE FOLLOWING FORMS:
1 / Electronic document retention system.
2 / Paper.
3 / E-mail pending filing within relevant document retention system.
THE INFORMATION WILL BE USED TO:
A / Comply with legal requirementsconcerning the investigation of statutory nuisances and the regulation of environmental matters under the following legislation:
  • Environmental Protection Act 1990 (regarding statutory nuisance provisions, stray dogs and contaminated land offences)
  • Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations 2016 (regarding environmental permits)
  • Environment Act 1995 (regarding contaminated land)
  • Private Water Supplies Regulations 2016(regarding regulation of private water supplies)
  • Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 (regarding animal-related licences)
  • Breeding of Dogs Act 1973 (regarding animal-related licences)
  • Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 (regarding animal-related licences)
  • Pet Animals Act 1951 (regarding animal-related licences)
  • Zoo Licensing Act 1981 (regarding animal-related licences)
  • Riding Establishments Acts 1964 and 1970 (regarding animal-related licences).
Conduct investigations in response to service requests including (but not limited to):
  • reports of dog fouling in breach of a Public Space Protection Order under the Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2017
  • reports of animal welfare under the Animal Welfare Act 2006
  • reports of littering under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 as amended by the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005.

THE TIME THE INFORMATION WILL BE HELD:
As provided for in the Document Retention Schedule attached to the General Privacy Notice and supplemented by the schedule below at section 14.4.
