V. Q&A: Discuss with the children all the things they have learned about Moses. Discuss how after Moses died there was still much work to be done for God and Joshua was chosen to continue leading God’s people to the promised land. Moses had followed God for a very long time and had been faithful to God and his laws. Some people God asked to do his work were not sure they could do it, but not Joshua. He was ready, willing and able to work for God.

Creek Bank Time:
Leigh – Donkey, good morning!
Donkey – Good morning boys and girls! Good morning, Miss Leigh
Leigh – Donkey, do you remember all the things we have been learning about Moses and the many wonderful things he did for the Hebrew people?
Donkey – Yes, I do. Moses freed God’s people from Egyptian slavery and was taking them to God’s Promised Land. It took so many years of wandering through the wilderness that if you were a baby when the journey began, you’d be a grown-up by the time Moses’ was to reach the Promised Land.
Leigh – Moses must have been so excited to lead the people to the Promised Land! But that is not what happened. The Bible tells us that Moses wouldn’t see the Promised Land. He grew very old during time wandering in the desert and he died.
Donkey – That is so sad. Without Moses how would the people find the land they were looking for?
Leigh – God knew Joshua would be a good leader and he could take the Hebrew people to their Promised Land.
Donkey – God promised Joshua that he would be with him just as he was with Moses. God commanded Joshua to be brave and courageous but he also warned him to remember the laws of God and to follow them.
Leigh – We can trust God to be with us like he was with Joshua. God will help us to be brave and we should trust his plan for our lives. We must also follow God’s laws and try to be good Christians. Question to the kids: Are we trying to be good Christians by coming to church to worship this morning?
Donkey - Miss Leigh, Joshua followed God’s command and led the Hebrew people to their special place just as God commanded. I love this story! What a happy ending to years of wandering through the desert. Even though Moses died, God was with him throughout his entire life watching over him and protecting him.
Leigh – I have learned so much today about Joshua and the continuing journey of the Hebrew people. Thanks for visiting today, Donkey! See you later! Boys and girls let’s thank Donkey for coming!
