SENSATIONAL “SHOOTOUT” CASE OF KRISHNA NAGAR SOLVED WITHIN 24 HOURS - TWO PERSONS INCLUDING ONE HAVING GUNSHOT INJURY IN THE SHOOTOUT, ARRESTED – WEAPON OF OFFENCE USED IN COMMISSION OF CRIME AND ROBBED VEHICLE RECOVERED.

With the arrest of two accused persons, the South District Police has solved the sensational shootout case of Krishna Nagar in which they fired a number of rounds on policeman and traders gathered to nab them in Lal Quarter market area on 24.11.09. The police has also recovered pistol alongwith live cartridges used by the assailants in the incident and robbed vehicle i.e. one Kinetic Honda Scooter.

ACCUSED ARRESTED:

1. Imran aged 25 years s/o Ayub Khan; and

2. Mohammed Imran aged 24 years s/o Mohammed Ubesh

(Both residents of Brahm Puri ,Delhi)

INCIDENT:

On 24.11.09, while Head constable Mahender Narain posted at PS Krishna Nagar East District was present in Lal Quarter market area, some traders reported him that two persons are roaming in the market area on their CBZ motorcycle especially at a place where many women are engaged in shopping. They are creating nuisance in the area by making lewd remarks on women shoppers and teasing them in the market. HC Mahender Narain also observed the same and found that they are creating disturbance in the market by eve-teasing. He signalled them to stop the motorcycle, but instead of stopping they accelerated the speed and tried to drive away. HC Mahender managed to stop their motorcycle with the help of local shopkeepers who had gathered there. Soon the pillion rider pulled out his pistol and fired on HC Mahender Singh and traders standing there. HC Mahender also pulled out his service weapon and fired two rounds in retaliation. One person got injury on his left thigh during the exchange of fire. Sensing the trouble, the duo ran away from the spot after firing in the air. After running for about 700-800 metres they robbed one Kinetic Honda Scooter from one S. Amarjeet at gunpoint in order to escape and ran away from the spot. Subsequently, a case was registered in PS Krishna Nagar for assault and attempt to murder and for possession and brandishing of illicit fire-arms. The incident which occurred in broad daylight in a crowded market was widely carried out by the print as well as electronic media.

TEAM, INVESTIGATION AND ARREST:

In order to solve this important and sensational case in which criminals dared to fire on a uniformed policeman in broad daylight and crowded market place, a team of PS Lodhi Colony consisting of SI Virender Prakash, ASI Shashi Kant, HC Balbir, HC Satyender, HC Rajender, HC Tara Chand, Hc Randhawa, HC Vinod & Ct Umesh was formed under the close supervision of Inspr. Rajender Singh SHO/Lodhi Colony and Sh Vikramjeet Singh ACP/Def Colony.

The team so formed recorded the detailed description of accused persons from the victim. Certain sources were also deployed to generate information regarding the movements of these criminals. On the basis of specific information given by a secret source that the persons involved in Krishna Nagar shootout case would come to Karbala Masjid to meet their other associates in order to commit further crime, a trap was laid by the team members and two persons namely Imran and Mohammed Imran were arrested around 3.45 pm on dated 25.11.09 from the area of PS Lodhi colony near Karbala Masjid where the duo had come on a Kinetic Honda Scooter which they had robbed from a person last evening. From the possession of accused Imran, one loaded pistol and two live cartridges were recovered. Subsequently both of them were arrested in FIR No. 188/09 registered at PS Lodhi Colony for possession and brandishing of illicit firearms and for possession of robbed vehicle.

INTERROGATION & PROFILE:

On sustained interrogation, the arrested persons disclosed that they had been involved in the sensational shootout case. They further disclosed that they opened indiscriminate firing at the policeman and traders gathered in Lal Quarter market when they tried to stop them in the evening of 24.11.09. They both had gathered in Lal Qaurter market area in order to rob some businessman so that they could celebrate their oncoming religious festival lavishly. They had also come there to purchase branded clothes on the occasion of religious festival. But while roaming around in search of target they got engaged and had an eye contact with a girl and started following her. The girl got scared and called for help which resulted into chaos in the market. Since the criminals who had come there with the preparation of robbery and carrying a loaded pistol, pulled out the pistol and opened fire at the policeman who rushed to catch them. In order to escape from the scene, they robbed a Kinetic Honda Scooter at gunpoint and drove away by firing indiscriminately.

On physical inspection of Imran it was found that he sustained gunshot injuries on his left side thigh over the knee. He was immediately taken to the hospital for seeking medical opinion about the nature of injuries sustained.

Accused Imran is a school dropout and fell in bad company. He works with his father in his metal forging factory in Brahmpuri. In the past, he got indulged in the incidents of petty thefts and had been involved in hurt case too. Imran was fond of befriending members of opposite sex and he had many girl friends. These persons were so desperate that they always carry firearms whenever they go for eve teasing, robbery, snatching and even desperate to challenge the policemen.

Mohd. Imran was working with his father who was working at an artisan stall in Trade Fair, Pragati Maidan.

RECOVERY:

1)  One loaded pistol with two live cartridges, used in commission of offence.

2)  One robbed Kinetic Honda Scooter

Investigation is in progress & concerned police station has been informed regarding arrest of these criminals. Efforts are being made to ascertain their other involvements. Members of the team are being suitably rewarded.

ROBBER ARRESTED RED HANDED: INVOLVED IN MANY CASES OF THEFT: ROBBED ARTICLES RECOVERED

INTRODUCTION :

The beat staff of PS Mukherjee Nagar, North West District has arrested red handed a robber namely Kamal, aged 24 years, s/o Hosla Prasad, r/o Malkaganj, Delhi, after he had robbed one lady at Nehru Vihar More, near Batra Cinema, Mukherjee Nagar. The Police team also recovered robbed purse containing Rs. 2500/- and other personal belongings of the lady. The motorcycle used in the commission of the crime has also been recovered by the Police team.

INCIDENT

On 24.11.2009, at about 8.30 p.m. the beat staff of PS Mukherjee Nagar namely i) Ct. Charan Singh and ii) Ct. Adesh were performing evening patrolling on Police bike near Batra cinema in the area of Mukherjee Nagar, when they heard the screaming noise of a lady and they saw that two motorcycle born persons were fleeing away after robbing the bag of a lady. Wasting no time they immediately chased the motor cycles and after few seconds chase they successfully nabbed one of the accused alongwith the bag of the lady and the motorcycle used in the commission of crime. One of his associate managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of crowd.

INTERROGATION

During the course of interrogation the accused Kamal disclosed that on the day of incident it was his marriage anniversary and he wanted to gift the bag to his wife. So he planned to rob the bag from some lady with his associate namely Vickey. On checking the record it was found that accused Kamal is involved in 5 other cases of theft and robbery.

During the course of enquiry it is also revealed that absconding Vickey is also resident of Kabir Basti. Accused Kamal has been taken on Police remand and efforts are afoot to arrest the absconding accused Vickey.

RECOVERY

i) Rs. 2500/- with bag.

ii) Red Pulsar motorcycle used in the commission of crime.
