With the arrest of the mastermind domestic help Mahesh long with his associates, Manoj, Bhagirath and Rajender the Police of PS Vasant Vihar, South District have solved a sensational case of house robbery which took place on the night of 19/11/2009. Domestic help Mahesh who did master mind the robbery along with his 3 associates has been arrested. All the robbed articles including cash and precious idols have been recovered.

INCIDENT

On 19/11/2009 at 10.30 PM an information was received at PS Vasant Vihar vide DD No. 31A regarding robbery at H. No. F-3/13, Vasant Vihar. On receipt of this information SHO/VV Insp. Ved Parkash along with other officers and staffs rushed to the spot. From the inspection of the spot and statement of Smt. Suman Ratra w/o Vinod Ratra, it was found that at around 9.30 PM three unknown persons entered into the house. Two of them entered into Smt. Suman Ratra’s room and asked for money on knifepoint. They forced her to open the dressing room almirah and conducted thorough search of the house. The robbers overpowered the lady, tied her hands with the handle of almirah and gagged her and took cash Rs. 3.50 lacs and other valuable articles from the dressing room. Before fleeing away from spot they also took valuable metal idols of Lord Radha and Krishna. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 380/09 dated 20/11/09 u/s 392/457/34 IPC was registered and the investigation was taken up.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION

Keeping in view the gravity of the crime, a team consisting of Insp. ATO Kishor Kumar, Insp. Pawan Kumar, SIs Neeraj Kumar, SI Upender Singh, SI Ajit Pal, HC Gulab, HC Giri Raj, Ct. Ramesh, Ct. Sanjeev, Ct. Mahesh and Ct. Jaspal was constituted under the supervision of SHO/Vasant Vihar Insp. Ved Parkash and overall supervision of ACP/VV Sh. Mohammad Ali. The Modus Operndi adopted by the accused persons was thoroughly analysed. The role of the domestic help of the house, namely, Mahesh Yadav age 28 yrs r/o Dist. Banka, Bihar who was also present at the time of incident in the house was also screened. He was thoroughly interrogated by the team members regarding the incident. During interrogation, the needle of suspicion pointed at domestic help Mahesh. After sustained interrogation, Mahesh broke down and confessed to his involvement in the crime

During analysis and investigation, it came to notice that Mahesh was in regular touch with one Manoj r/o Dist. Banka, Bihar for the last 15 days. As Mahesh was employed in the home for the last two and half years, he was well aware about the large movement of cash in the house. Accordingly, he planned the crime along with his associates Manoj, Rajender and Bhagirath. In the evening of 19/11/09 his associates assembled near PVR Priya Complex. At that time Mahesh also joined them and planned the whole episode. He chose the day as he was sure that his employer Sh. Vinod Ratra was out of country due to his business meeting and his son Varun had also left for Kolkata in the morning for treatment and Mrs. Suman Ratra was alone at the house.

At around 9.30 PM, Mahesh opened the automatic locking gate from the kitchen side giving way to all the three accused persons who entered into the home quietly and to execute their evil design. During further investigation, the associates of Mahesh namely Manoj, Bhagirath & Rajender Yadav were apprehended from the Majnu Ka Tila Area in time before they could flee from there as they were planning to flee to Bihar.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS

1.  Mahesh Yadav s/o Sh. Kartik Yadav r/o Vill. Katoriya, P.S. Katoria, Dist. Banka, Bihar. Aged – 27 Yrs

2.  Manoj Yadav s/o Sh. Vasudev Yadav r/o Vill. Kagishar P.S. Katoria Dist. Banka, Bihar. Aged – 22 Yrs

3.  Rajender Yadav s/o Sh. Raghunath Yadav r/o Vill. Beharava P.S. Katoria Dist.Banka, Bihar. Aged – 36 Yrs

4.  Bhagirath Yadav s/o Sh. Hari r/o Vill. Jhaha P.S. Katoria, Dist. Banka, Bihar. Aged – 36 Yrs

All the accused persons belong of Banka Distt of Bihar and belong to near by villages and are distant relatives. Manoj was also arrested earlier in bus robbery case in Bihar. Further involvements of the accused persons are being verified.

1.  FIVE HIGHWAY ROBBERS WHO LURED VICTIMS BY GIVING LIFT ARRESTED - ROBBERY CASE INVOLVING CARGO OFFICER AT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SOLVED

With the arrest of (1) Monu Kumar, ( 2 ) Deepak Kumar, (3) Monu @ Bhallad, ( 4 ) Surjeet; and receiver (5) Sonu @ Angad, South District Police have busted a gang of robbers who offered lift to the persons waiting on Bus Stops in the late night hours. After traveling some distance they overpowered and robbed the victim of belongings and threw them on the road.

INCIDENT

Sh. Thommy John S/o Sh John Lomappan R/o 782 Lodhi Road Complex, New Delhi reported that he worked as Cargo Officer at Cargo Terminal IGI Airport. On 18.11.2009 at about 1 AM in the night, while he was waiting for some transport near Mahipal Pur Red Light on NH-8 to go to his home after his duty, a silver colour Wagon R car, bearing no 3924 came there and stopped near him and the occupants asked him where he wanted to go. He told that he has to go to South Ex. Rs. 30 was decided as fare. They offered him back seat, three boys were already in the car along with driver after traveling some distance, they took out a knife which was pointed at him.Driver asked his associates to rob him all of his belongings, he tried to resist but all in vain. They robbed him of his wrist watch, mobile phone, purse containing Rs. 1000, HSBC credit card and threw him near Palam Railway Crossing and threatened him not to report the matter to police. On his complaint a case vide FIR NO 60/09 U/s 392/34 IPC was registered in PS Vasant Kunj South and investigation taken up.

TEAM AND ARREST

Keeping in view the gravity of offence a team comprising Insp. Jai Parkash, SI Rajesh Kumar, HCs Devender, Subhash, Ajit, Surender, Bani Singh and Harjeet and Cts Pradeep, Ashok and Sanjeev was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Ishwar Singh, SHO Vasant Kunj South and under overall supervision of ACP Vasant Vihar, Sh. Mohammad Ali. The team launched a massive hunt and laid traps on NH-8 and finally traced and intercepted the Wagon R used in crime near Shiv Murti on NH-8 in the night and arrested Monu, Surjeet, Bhallad and Deepak while they were again in search of a new victim. After their interrogation accused Sonu has also been arrested from Haider Pur JJ Camp and from his possession they robbed wrist watch and mobile phone have been recovered which were handed over to him for disposing off.

INTERROGATION

On interrogation it has been found that accused Sonu and Monu were earlier arrested in a NDPS case in PS Prashant Vihar in Feb 2004 and remained in Tihar Jail for almost 3 years and came out in Oct 2006. Now days accused Monu was working as driver on a Wagon R car of a call centre in Noida, but due to his wrong habits he could not meet his expenses from his legal means. He contacted his old jail mate Sonu who readily agreed to join his gang, they further contacted like minded friends of Haider Pur JJ Camp and formed a gang and started committing robberies on road after offering lift to the persons waiting for transport in late night hours.

(1) Monu Kumar S/o Sh Raj Kumar R/o N-49/48 JJ Camp, Haider Pur, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, age 22 years

(2) Deepak Kumar S/o Sh Ramesh Kumar R/o N-49/50 JJ Camp, Haider Pur, Delhi, age 19 years

(3) Monu @ Bhallad S/oSh Pappu R/o B-92 JJ Camp, Inder Puri, Delhi, age 19 years

(4) Surjeet S/o Sh Bhikhari Prashad R/o H. No 441 Haider Pur, Delhi, age 19 years; and

(5) Receiver, Sonu @ Angad S/o Sh Bhola R/o 222 JJ Camp, Haider Pur, Delhi age 22 year.

The gang has been committing robberies on road after offering lift to the persons waiting for transport in late night hours.
