Dear Member,

Hello… and welcome to my first newsletter as secretary.

We held the AGM a few weeks ago and there have been some changes but the meeting was well attended and we are all looking forward to a busy year ahead. Helen gave a glowing report of the last year and Kate’s treasurers report backed it up with another health bank balance. Special thanks went to Nicky, who we have just heard, has been awarded a special Pony Club prize for her support and long service. I’m sure you will hear more of that in the coming months.

Our committee remains the same except for my election to secretarial duties, Steve will remain on the committee. It has been suggested that a list of Committee members be published with the newsletter each year for your information. This is at the end of this newsletter. If older members or your family members are interested in helping out with the committee we will be glad to hear from you.

There is to be a social event at Brecon Rugby Club (date to be confirmed) in the form of a Video Race Night for members their families and friends. There will be a night of food and fun with the suggestion that you might dress up as jockeys. So please start spreading the word and tickets will be available from committee members soon.

There was a short chat about Camp (dates in the diary). The only change discussed will be that there will not be a Promise Auction this year. The BBQ night will be a disco and possibly some other attractions. How about a Rodeo Bull? Tell us what you think. We will be discussing more at the next meeting.

We have been lacking in Stable Management events so we will be trying to organise more and move some of you forward to your tests. We have arranged Rallies and other events for the coming months so please keep an eye on the diary and your email boxes. Also remember to keep Helen informed if you are attending rallies as the best instructors are becoming harder to book and we are having to secure them a long time ahead of events and if we cancel them they are not going to be too pleased. The two week rule still applies but best if you can book your place earlier. We have already booked your Camp instructors!

As you are aware we now have the Cross Country Jumps in storage and are looking forward to using them. We just have to purchase some regulation stakes and hope the weather improves. There is the possibility of some extra sponsorship money from @ExploreMidWales and its been discussed that, with that and while our bank balance is quite rosy, we refurbish our jumps and equipment.
