Description:

The Senior Manager of Market Research will play a pivotal role in leading all of Vail Resorts' Market Research activities, including high level strategic decision support research and analysis and routine customer survey efforts. This individual will be expected to provide insights and direction to help lead the Company's consumer-centric and insight-driven strategic marketing efforts. This position is part of the Marketing team and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

This position's responsibilities and attributes include:

• Expected to be the subject matter expert and thought leader on all elements of market research and customer segmentation Create and manage segmentation purchase funnel

• Execute conjoint, discrete choice and other analysis methods to address specific research topics

• Lead and manage all recurring survey analysis across the organization including customer satisfaction surveys and net promoter scores

• Partner closely with all Marketing teams to drive insights and optimization of marketing investments and leverage CRM data to align pricing with Marketing strategic objectives

• Partner closely with key business decision makers to drive insights and understanding of the customer behaviors and attitudes

• Manage customer database to enable dialogue with our best customers for sales and research purposes (create real-time panel for each core customer segment)

• Research expert in translating and driving qualitative (ethnography/ focus groups) and quantitative (surveys) results

• Analyze/synthesize a wide range and large amount of qualitative and quantitative data (including primary, secondary, database, competitive information and operational) and present a cohesive, influential business case.

• Manages relationships and projects with outside research suppliers and related vendors.

• Ability to inspire and support core team to explore ways to mine consumer insights

Qualifications:

7+ years experience (or equivalent with MBA or other graduate degree) in a role with extensive market research responsibilities. Candidates should have demonstrated success in market research and customer segmentation analysis, experience communicating with and providing decision support to senior management, and experience working in cross-functional teams.
