Senior Information

  • Commencement 2016 – Mark your calendars. Westbury’s graduation is Saturday, May 28, 2016 at NRG Arena beginning at 7:00 PM. Students are not limited to the number of guests they are allowed to invite.
  • Senior Fee Payments – Seniors have an opportunity to purchase a package or a la carte (individual items). Packages cannot be altered. The deadline to pay senior dues is Friday, February 26, 2016. Students have an opportunity to pay Ms. Bradley during 5th period (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). Ms. Bradley is also available to accept payments after school until 3:45 PM. Cash and money order are the only acceptable forms of payment
  • Financial Aid 2016 (Go Center) – Tax season is here!!! We encourage parents to file their taxes early in January if they will have a student entering college during Fall 2016. The financial aid application is now open. Remember funds are distributed on a first come serve basis. (Refer to the “What do I need to complete the FAFSA?” handout for further information concerning financial aid.)
  • SAT Testing – Below is a list of upcoming testing dates and registration deadlines (in parenthesis) for the SAT:
  • March 6, 2016 (February 5, 2016); SAT Subject Tests not offered on this date
  • May 7, 2016 (April 8, 2016); SAT Subject Tests available on this date
  • June 4, 2016 (May 5, 2016); SAT Subject Tests available on this date
  • Attendance – Students are required to submit a letter to the Attendance Office (Ms. Stennis, Main Office) three (3) days upon their return to school. Failure to submit an attendance letter is the specified time will result in an absence being unexcused and could result in the loss of credits.
  • Report Cards – Scholars will receive their fourth six weeks report cards Friday, February 19, 2016. If your scholar has an asterisk by any class, your scholar is currently on non-credit status in that course and his/her graduation status could be in jeopardy. Become proactive; contact the appropriate administrator for assistance.
  • Senior Panoramic Picture – Fall panoramic pictures are available for pickup in C123/C124. Students must stop by before school, during lunch, or after school and must an appropriate ID to receive panoramic.
  • Spring Break Trip – Due to limited participation, the Spring Break trip to Florida has been cancelled. Any scholar who has paid his/her deposit can have the funds transferred to his/her senior fees or request a refund if senior fees have been paid in full. Refunds typically take 4 to 6 weeks for processing through the district.
  • Prom – It’s official! Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 8:00 pm – 12:00 midnight at NRG Crowne Plaza. The cost of prom is $85 per ticket if a package is purchased; $100 for a la carte purchases. Date tickets must be purchased by Friday, February 26, 2016. The cost of prom tickets will increase to $125 (a la carte) beginning Monday, February 29, 2016. Payments are received by Ms. Bradley in C123/C124 during 5th period (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). Cash or money order (made payable to Westbury) are the only accepted forms of payment. Any attendant who is not on the administrative approved attendant list will not be allowed to attend prom. All attendants, including Westbury scholars, are required to present their photo ID at the check in table.
  • Guest Registration Form –All guest must complete a Guest Registration and must have a copy of his/her ID on file by Friday, April 29, 2016.
  • Transcript – Seniors should request transcripts from the Go Center.
  • Herff Jones Graduation Assembly – Mark Branch of Herff Jones will be on campus Tuesday, February 16, 2016 during both lunches to take orders for any senior who was unable to place their graduation order Thursday, January 21, 2016. Parents can opt to attend a Herff Jones Graduation Fair Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Elsik High School from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • Senior Parent Meeting – Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2016 beginning at 6:30 PM in the Lecture Hall. Please email Ms. Bradley at if you have a concern you would like added to the agenda the Monday prior to the scheduled meeting. (Note: Please contact the school if you’ve had a number change. Reminder callouts are conducted prior to the meeting. Due to outdated information, we have been unable to reach a large percentage of the senior body.)
