Senior Competition Committee
Role Description: responsible for overseeing all aspects of managing the competitionand collaborating in the delegation of tasks to members of this Committee.
Accountable: to BBBA Board (every 2 months – through minutes) and to adhering at all times to the Objects of the Constitution 2014 and the guiding principles of the Vision And Mission Statement Document and its accompanying statements including all relevant policy documents e.g. WHS, Child Protection, Codes of Conduct etc
Tasks:
Draw organization for the season
Advertising
Compiling and updating email team contacts
Web and Facebook notifications
Court Hire
Advise court hire coordinator of court hours required each season
Finances
In consultation with Finance Committee set fees - registration and game fees
Collect fees, issue receipts (to enable registration process) and bank fees
Recording income and expenses on ‘Banking Sheet’ provided
Registrations
Collect fees, issue receipts (to enable registration process)
Receive and distribute registration cards.
NB- Ensure all people on the court are registered with BNSW - no exceptions (each player has 2 x weeks to comply). Registration due date is shown on the scoresheet at least 2 weeks prior to it being due.
Give completed registration forms to Registrar within 14 days of payment/completion
Referees
Liaise with referees who will organise referees/ court controller
General Competition Court Control
Generate information sheet to handout and for the website. To include, season dates, nights played, game fees amount and payment plans and information contacts etc.
Create draw. All senior Finals to run the same week, with all finals to be standard FIBA 3 Round Semi-Finals format unless time constraints or other issues
Adhere to and maintain competition rules (to be reviewed annual by Senior Competition Committee and to be endorsed by the Board), to be displayed on web site and in folder at main table and copies kept in files at stadium
Scoresheets need to be printed weekly and delivered to BRSCC; they are then also picked up processed, e.g. results recorded and information uploaded onto BNSW website via ‘Sportzman’ Program.
On The Night Court Control
Sign Risk Assessment paperwork @ BRSCC
Ensure score bench equipment is in place as well as scoresheet folders
Ensure match balls, first aid/spare whistles are atcourtside
Assist referees to get games going on time
Assist referees to pack up, put balls, first aid/spare whistles away
Assist referees to store scoresheets
Trophies
Decide on trophy format and purchase trophies in consultation with the Finance Committee
Organise engraving of perpetual shields engraved and ensure they remain at BRSCC
Presentations
Organise, advertise and cost an annual or bi-annual presentation/ awards event (bearing in mind our current sponsors)
