The Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship in Industrial Design
The Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship was founded in 2001. The aim of the scholarship is to give the opportunity for two students to study industrial design at Lund University, Faculty of engineering. The industrial design programme is running over five years and finishes with a Master of Industrial Design.
The scholarship is 75 000 SEK per year (about 7 500 Euro) and covers the costs for living and accommodation for ten months, August to May. The student will get an amount of 7 500 SEK monthly.
The students will mainly follow the courses of the last two years of the study programme during the academic years 2009/2010 and 2010/2011. The fourth year has the theme "Products, Companies and Working Experience" and the students have practical external training during the spring term. During this term the scholarship students have the possibility to take courses instead. During the spring term 2011 the students are working with their master degree projects.
The students will also be offered courses in Swedish.
Demands for applicants:
The student must have a Bachelor's degree in industrial design (or corresponding degree).
The student must have a good knowledge of English, at least from upper secondary school.
The application must be written in English. Enclosed must be a letter of purpose with curriculum vitae, a portfolio (preferably a PDF on a CD), a copy of the Bachelor Diploma, translated into English and a certificate of knowledge of the English language, also translated into English.
