Section 1011 Obtaining Reimbursement for Treating Undocumented Aliens

Join CAHAM for a half day seminar and obtain and overview of Section 1011 of the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003. There is $250 million dollars in funding available to hospitals that provide emergency services to undocumented aliens. It is expected that $71 million will be available to California hospitals.
In order to participate providers must submit enrollment forms, and develop a process to appropriately screen patients and obtain the required documentation. This seminar will assist you in learning the requirements for requesting funds and obtaining documentation. You will also hear first hand how others facilities have implemented this process into their existing Financial Counseling programs.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Admissions, Financial Counselors, Social Workers, Billing, Reimbursement, Patient Financial Services Staff, and anyone involved in the screening and or billing for self pay patients.
