SEMI-RIGID MINERAL WOOL INSULATION

SECTION 072115

SEMI-RIGID MINERAL WOOL INSULATION

***

This section specifies semi-rigid mineral wool thermal insulation for use in vented/ventilated cavity walls over an air/vapor barrier system as part of a veneer or cladding system with semi-rigid insulation and air/vapor barrier placed over the structural wall assembly.

Semi-rigid mineral wool is hydrophobic (does not absorb water) and is acceptable in lieu of rigid foam insulation for most cases. It may be required for FM Global financed projects at cavity walls.

Curtain wall insulation has been added to this section and could be further developed.
