SELF-INVIGILATION OF APM EXAMINATIONS

SELF-INVIGILATIONSTANDARDS

Please read this document carefully. It sets out the standards within which we will enable APM Accredited Providers to operate as self-invigilation centres for APM Exams. If you have any queries regarding the process, please contact either Mary-Jane Boughton () or Claire Prendergast ().

Association for Project Management (APM) will:

  1. Issue accredited providers with a self-invigilation pack which will include the documentInstructions to Examination Invigilatorsfor:APM Introductory Certificate, Risk Level 1, APMP, APMP2,and Risk Level 2.
  2. Courier examination papers, to the examination venues, as specified on the self-invigilation examination booking form (QA12b), normally within five working days of the examination for UK venues and 10 working days for overseas venues.
  3. Operate a quality assurance process to ensure adherence to the standards, including but not limited to:
  4. Visiting at least one self-invigilated exam per year as part of our quality assurance process.
  5. Visiting accredited providers’ premises and owners of the process at least once a year to ensure that requirements are being met.

Accredited Providers will:

  1. Agree to abide by the self-invigilation standards and operate a quality assurance process to confirm nominated invigilators do the same.
  2. Provide APM with a signed agreement from all self-invigilators that they have read and understood the document Instructions to Examination Invigilators for: APM Introductory Certificate, Risk Level 1, APMP, APMP2, Risk Level 2.
  3. Provide contact details of all persons proposed as self-invigilators,detailing any other invigilation they have carried out for other awarding bodies, any experience they have in the invigilation process and details of anyissues that have arisen during self-invigilation for other awarding bodies.
  4. Inform APM of a self-invigilation event at the time of booking an examination to include details of the self-invigilator’s name and venue delivery address for examination papers (QA12b form).
  5. Ensure all examination material is held securely at examination venues, or if at AP premises, store examination material in a safe, locked cupboard or locked briefcase.
  6. Agree to pay ‘self-invigilation’ fees annually, at the same time as accreditation fees.
  7. Return all examination papers immediately to APM, after the examinations, via secure traceable post. (Courier or special delivery preferred).
  8. Agree to meet the requirements of the data protection act 1998 in respect of the handling of a candidate’s personal data as described in APM DPA business partner policy and procedure document.
