APPROVED SELECTBOARD MINUTES

February 8th, 2016

Selectboard Meeting called to Order at 6:58by Selectboard Member Lou Beam.

Present: Lou Beam andRon Batchelder

Bud Ross was unable to attend the meeting.

Lou Beam,reviewed the Town Calendar.

Minutes of theFebruary 1st, 2016 Meeting accepted as written. (Unanimous)

Old Business:

1. The Board reviewed an email from Dennis McClary concerning repairs to the Meetinghouse. The Board decided to give Griffin Construction the okay to complete these projects while redoing the Meetinghouse and charge the Town.

2. The Board reviewed an Invitation from the Heritage Commission for the Open House and the guest list. Lou mentioned that he had attended the last meeting of the Heritage Commission and that they had asked that a copy of the Open House for the Meetinghouse be added in each copy of the Town Report. He went on to talk about the intention of the Open House and that it was going to be an informal viewing and meet and greet.

Ray Gosetti, Police Officer for Langdon, joined the meeting. He needed signatures from the Board for a contract for the new prosecutor. The yearly cost for services was discussed and the necessity of procuring her. The Board signed the agreement.

New Business:

1. The Board reviewed a proposal from Long’s Roofing for the reroofing of the Old Fire Station.

2. Lou discussed that he Dennis had attended a conference in Concord put on by the CDFA for grant writing to determine how the State would expend $5 million dollars to non profits and towns. The grants would be available to projects that included creating jobs or improvements on buildings. Lou talked about how the money is raised and also some requirements to get a grant. One provision is that if grant money were given for the improvement of a town building- the town would need to keep that building for the next 10 years or pay back a percentage of the grant. Lou mentioned that it may be worth looking into when it comes time to re side the Meetinghouse or monies for the purchase of the Scot Packs for the Fire Department.

3. The Board reviewed and signed POs for the Road Agent.

4. The Board reviewed and signed orders.

5. The Board reviewed and signed payroll.
