ACTIVITY FIVE:

ACTIVITY 6:

Rhyming words -

teacher has a bag with rhyming word picture tiles, each child draws a tile and then has to find the person that rhymes with their tile - pairs line up together or are partners for a game, etc...

ACTIVITY 7:

Photograph children and display them (one idea was around a paper plate) -then have clothes pins with each child's beginning letter written on it - children "clip" each child's beginning letter to the photo of them.

ACTIVITY 8:

SOUND HOP

3 spots (carpet squares, rubber circles, etc...) placed on floor, teacher/student sound out words together and the child moves spots for each sound C A T

ACTIVITY 9:

In small groups, teacher lays down letter squares and has a child stand by each of the letters (3 letters, 3 children - 5 letters, 5 children). The teacher then makes a sound with the action and the child that is standing by the letter that makes that sound gets to step onto his/her letter.

Example - letter displayed are T W C - teacher says "turkey"...child standing by the T moves onto the letter T.
