Summary

Do you enjoy working with a team of committed professionals working to create greater opportunities for low-to moderate- income working families in the Bay Area? Earn It! Keep It! Save It! (EKS) is a United Way of the Bay Area-led program which provides low-income working families with free tax return preparation, assistance with filing tax credit claims, and asset accumulation and growth information. The program supports United Way’s goal of cutting poverty in half by 2020. The EKS Program Associate is a full-time position which contributes to the effective and successful implementation of this 7 county regional program and provides strategic program support to the regional program and specific counties.

Responsibilities

· Assist EKS Regional Directors with program design, implementation, and strategic growth

· Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with organizations, programs, businesses, local and national partners which support EKS program goals including, but not limited to, community based organizations, municipal and county agencies, and IRS SPEC department

· Represent EKS at various community meetings

· Support EKS county coalition work as needed

· Research new funding opportunities, write grant proposals and grant reports

· Represent EKS at public speaking engagements during the United Way of the Bay Area workplace campaign and other opportunities throughout the year

· Assist/mentor/coach UWBA staff (non-EKS) working with EKS coalitions

· Assist in the management ongoing development and updating of promotional strategies including all printed outreach materials, eks website and social media

· Responsible for the creation and implementation of a marketing distribution plan

· Oversee coordination of regional VITA volunteer recruitment

· Oversee volunteer management, training and placement for Alameda County

· Provide technical assistance and support to coalition partners

· Oversee all logistics and planning for the Regional Campaign Workgroup meetings

· Support data project as needed and assigned

· Provide support/coordination of specific projects as assigned

Requirements

· Excellent attention to detail in all program tasks

· Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and on a team

· Ability to fulfill responsibilities with minimal supervision

· Experience working effectively with diverse populations; knowledge of guidelines to successfully work in a culturally sensitive environment

· Experience with community building and working in collaborative partnerships with other organizations, agencies, institutions, and entities

· Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills

· Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

· Experience with event planning

· Demonstrated ability to support collaborative projects - both with internal staff and community based coalitions;

· Grant writing and fund development experience for public or nonprofit agencies

· Excellent proficiency in operating computers and various Windows-based software applications (MS Word, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint)

· One or more years of related professional work experience in a non-profit, public or human service organization

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Bachelor’s degree is most desirable; equivalent experience will be reviewed

· Must have own transportation and a California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment

SALARY

Range: $39,000-$41,000 depending on experience
