Employment History
Spika, London / February 2016 – April 2016Front-End Web Developer (Contract)
Implementing new Disney Movie Rewards website in time for the release of the latest Star Wars DVD. Main tasks involved substantial Bootstrap work throughout legacy JSPs, simplifying and cleaning code as I went. Final pages were fully responsive,whilst muchjavascript and server-side logic was removed in order to ease on-going maintenance.
Game Account Network, London / April 2015 – December 2015Front-End Web Developer (Contract)
CSS (Sass & Compass) and JS development, compiled through Grunt. Using Agile scrum working process with multi-skilled teams. Building new JSP pages through struts tiles and asset creation. Working across multiple partner websites on a daily basis, including Betfair and multiple US casinos.
Front-End Web Developer (Contract)
Implemented Photoshop designs into new corporate website, using modern technologies such as HTML5, CSS, Sass, Compass, SVG, Bootstrap and jQuery.Javascript interactions included carousels, multimedia overlays and accordions – all fully responsive across a variety of devices.
Publicis Healthcare Group, London / January 2015 – February 2015Front-End Web Developer (Contract)
Produced Bootstrap build for health-related landing page for upcoming international campaign. Interactive elements included forms for sharing details on social media, customised Google maps as well as YouTube video galleries and bespoke twitter hashtag feeds.
Oasis Stores, London / November 2014 – December 2014Front-End Web Developer (Contract)
Developed a Christmas-themed landing page for an advent calendar. Retail marketing offers were rotated viaJavascript. Design was created in a fully responsive layout, which smoothly handled all major mobile & tablet devices plus desktops.
British Medical Journal, London / July 2013 – August 2014Front-End Web Developer (Contract)
Constructed new UI based on Bootstrap with some jQuery customisation for cross-site re-branding. Improvements included responsive template, with Less-based CSS compiling.
Set up A/B testing experiments in order to maximise the registration levels received through the website. Designed new UI,which multiplied conversions by 300%. Also coded and implemented the design.Initial 3-month contract extended to 14.
Rated People Ltd, London / December 2009 – May 2013Front-End Web Developer
Revamped entire front-end to reflect fast growing nature of this business, which required a slicker, modern presence which also covered new devices such as tablet and mobile. CSS and HTML5 structure was also re-organised into a much more maintainable format.
The Net Circle, Shanghai, China / July 2008 - November 2009Web Designer / Developer
XHTML/CSS coding plus design work for social networking website with 100,000 member base. Additional work included planning and implementing a new business directory section. This role helped me to learn cutting edge knowledge plus experience life in Chinese culture.
Agency Contracting, London / April 2008 - June 2008Web Designer
Some short term contracting positions helped generate funds for my switch to China. Roles involved were working on a redesign of a large section of the British Library’s website plus flash banners for an online betting company. Each lasted approximately 4 weeks before moving abroad to The Net Circle. Both companies involved requested me to stay on longer.
BUPA, London / May 2005 - April 2008Web Technologies Designer
Concept designs created in Photoshop, signed off by client, then built in W3C standards compliant XHTML & CSS with some flash elements. My role also requires dealing with internal clients and external agencies and adhering to strict brand guidelines. The websites are built within both JSP and ASP environments and I have great experience in dealing with onshore and offshore developers as well.

My strong interpersonal skills and friendly character gives me the ability to build, develop and sustain relationships easily. I am equally comfortable acting as an individual or as part of team, and have plenty of experience within the design industry in both.
I enjoy cooking, oil painting and watching or playing various sports within my spare time. I also like to further develop my design ability at home through reading and learning new software packages and languages. I have enjoyed my recent Asian travels and hope to fit in more travelling in the future.
