The Boys Bowling Team from West Seneca East High School, The Girls Team from Tonawanda High School and 12 All Stars Bowlers (6 boys and 6 girls) from High Schools listed below, traveled to White Plains New York on February 29 – March 2, to compete in the NYSPHSAA Bowling Championship. Grand Island Transit provided our transportation. Bus driver was Sammie Andrews.

We left Eastern Hills mall at 7am on Friday 2/29 and returned at 9pm Sunday 3/2

At the competition the Tonawanda girls were winners of the Bronze medals with Gina Maduri establishing a new state record for 3 games as a 747 and a six game total of 1304 and capturing a first place medal. The Tonawanda girls were Samantha Marcaccio, Erin McDonald, Dawn Carter, Casey Leibert, Heather Shriber, Trista Davis and Gina Maduri. The coach was Jerry Frizzell.

The boys from West Seneca East won Silver Medals and established a new state record three game total of 3481. Nick Morrissey led his team with a first place 6-game set of 1452 for which he received a gold medal.The boys were John Truslow, Josh Broad, Derrick Geschwender, Nick Morrissey, Branden Simone and Brandon Herale coached by Justin Megenhagen.

The All-star boys team finished in sixth place Justin Garus -Amherst, Andrew Gonciarz –Maryvale

Kevin Alajko – Depew, James Golubski- Silver Creek, Dan Darnley - Frontier, Adam Jozwiak-Lockport Their coach wasWilliam Morrissey, West Seneca East and the female chaperone Mary Morrissey.

The All-star girls team won Gold Medals leading the competition the entire way. Savannah Zientara led the team with a second place finish with a six-game total of 1269. The team members were Jenna Geiger- Lockport, Corey Bernard-Cheektowaga, Chelsea Dustin- West Seneca East, Ally Harvey-Frontier, Jacqueline Willy- Clarence, and Savannah Zientara- Lewiston Porter. Jenna Geiger was also awarded a medal for third high single 238. Coach John Zloty and Dan Kaplan- Cheektowaga.

Ally Harvey and Nick Morrissey were awarded All-state sportsmanship awards.
