RESEARCH COMMITTEE
Home Health Section
COMPOSITION AND TERM
- The Executive Committee appoints the chair for a 3-year term.
- A maximum of three (3) committee members are appointed by the chair and approved by the Executive Committee. Each member serves a 3-year term. Staggered terms are preferred, but not required.
DUTIES
- Review and recommend submitted abstracts to the Programming Chair for section programming at annual Combined Sections Meeting.
- Monitor industry-related research and post various topics of interest to the section listserve once weekly.
- Compose Research Corner for quarterly section newsletter and submit to publication committee according to established deadline.
- Identify, approve, and coordinate funding for research in home health clinical practice as outlined in the Home Health Section Research Grant Program document.
- Attend Research Chair meeting at Combined Sections Meeting (chair only).
- Serve as a resource on home health research by connecting interested section members to information and contacts.
PROCEDURES
COMMON
- Chair submits an annual report to the Executive Committee regarding accomplishments achieved by the research committee.
- Chair retains the responsibility of delegating duties to committee members and maintaining their active involvement in the above listed duties.

SPECIFIC
- Abstracts submitted to the section for consideration for Combined Sections Meeting will undergo a committee review process.
- Committee members will make recommendations to chair with regard to acceptance and decline.
- Chair will make final determination on acceptance/decline and will forward recommendation to Programming Chair.
- Chair will retain responsibility of posting research updates weekly to the section listserve.
- Committee members will participate by forwarding items of research interest to the chair for posting consideration.
- Chair will be responsible for meeting deadlines for submission of the Research Corner column of the section newsletter.
- Committee members will participate in writing Research Corner, in collaboration with chair.
- Chair will assume full responsibility for duties related to the Home Health Section Research Grant Program.
- Chair will utilize skills, contacts, and resources of committee members to connect section members with information related to research.

- Demonstrates basic computer skills
- Section member in good standing
- Actively working or participating in home health care
f. Able to dedicate 4-6 hours/month for committee membership and 15-20 hours/month for chair.
