Home Health Section

COMPOSITION AND TERM

  1. The Executive Committee appoints the chair for a 3-year term.
  2. A maximum of three (3) committee members are appointed by the chair and approved by the Executive Committee. Each member serves a 3-year term. Staggered terms are preferred, but not required.

DUTIES

  1. Review and recommend submitted abstracts to the Programming Chair for section programming at annual Combined Sections Meeting.
  2. Monitor industry-related research and post various topics of interest to the section listserve once weekly.
  3. Compose Research Corner for quarterly section newsletter and submit to publication committee according to established deadline.
  4. Identify, approve, and coordinate funding for research in home health clinical practice as outlined in the Home Health Section Research Grant Program document.
  5. Attend Research Chair meeting at Combined Sections Meeting (chair only).
  6. Serve as a resource on home health research by connecting interested section members to information and contacts.

PROCEDURES

COMMON

  1. Chair submits an annual report to the Executive Committee regarding accomplishments achieved by the research committee.
  2. Chair retains the responsibility of delegating duties to committee members and maintaining their active involvement in the above listed duties.

SPECIFIC

  1. Abstracts submitted to the section for consideration for Combined Sections Meeting will undergo a committee review process.
  2. Committee members will make recommendations to chair with regard to acceptance and decline.
  3. Chair will make final determination on acceptance/decline and will forward recommendation to Programming Chair.
  4. Chair will retain responsibility of posting research updates weekly to the section listserve.
  5. Committee members will participate by forwarding items of research interest to the chair for posting consideration.
  6. Chair will be responsible for meeting deadlines for submission of the Research Corner column of the section newsletter.
  7. Committee members will participate in writing Research Corner, in collaboration with chair.
  8. Chair will assume full responsibility for duties related to the Home Health Section Research Grant Program.
  9. Chair will utilize skills, contacts, and resources of committee members to connect section members with information related to research.

  12. Demonstrates basic computer skills
  13. Section member in good standing
  14. Actively working or participating in home health care

f. Able to dedicate 4-6 hours/month for committee membership and 15-20 hours/month for chair.
