Quality Assurance of Third Party/[Partner name] Delivery of TAFE Awards

Third party/ [Partner name] delivery of TAFE awards - roles and responsibilities checklist

Intent

It is essential that all partnership arrangements with RMIT are underpinned by a written agreement that clearly and fully expresses the roles and responsibilities of each party, including provision for monitoring and reviewing provisions of the agreement.

The checklist is designed to ensure all compliance issues for third party/partner delivery of TAFE awards are addressed during negotiation and contract development. Professional judgement needs to be applied in its use. For example, in a partnership arrangement with another RTO with the qualification on its scope of registration it may be reasonable to rely on them maintaining records of staff competencies, student records etc. and taking responsibility for a majority of the roles (this would need to be documented in the partnership agreement). However, it needs to be remembered that RMIT is responsible and accountable for the quality of the training and/or assessments conducted on its behalf and therefore has overall accountability for the quality assurance mechanisms. In ensuring that, records are in place to demonstrate compliance with AQTF.

Key action

The TAFE awards are issued by RMIT University.
